During yet another dark and rainy night, an elven male, presumably another victim of the mists, came stumbling out from the nearby Vistani camp. Clutching a lantern in one hand, and a staff in his others. It is said that he was found passed out near the camp, eventually being be shaken back into consciousness by fellow travelers, only to proceed to throw up a small torrent of water. After a brief exchange, the man departed towards the south...

Local serfs and peasants west of vallaki begin to speak of even more disappearances from the passing night. This time farms, mills, and rural homes seem to have fallen victim to the beasts that rend. doors smashed to splinters, windows shattered, and roofs left exposed as blood drenched scenes are left in their wake.

With Each passing full moon, the howling continues to grow in viscosity and dpeth; a growing danger, a growing fear...

The steady thunk of a shovel blade against the frozen earth comes from the burial yard. Near the Charnel House, two fresh graves are in the process of being dug: one for an adult, and another for a child. The progress is slow, as the ground is too hard to dig in the Winter season, buy day-by-day, a foot of depth is added to the tilled ground. A pair of wooden stakes mark the place where headstones will be erected.
It is not an ending, but an ebbing.

Come the melting, a Gundarakite man is seen hauling two sacks of remains to the finished grave pits. Though the cadavers are missing limbs, and rent beyond recognition, some effort has been made to dress them for burial. Slits are cut along the shoulder-blades of their garments to allow their wings freedom as their spirits are ferried off with the ravens. Then, they are put under and covered with soil.

A stocky wooden pole is erected at each grave.

Each grave marker is brightly painted, and features a simple engraving in the Barovian style. One depicts a woman in traditional dress in front of a cottage. The other depicts a child of indeterminate gender in a meadow with an oina bat in hand.

A sung eulogy completes the rites.
It is not an ending, but an ebbing.

Several more unknown graves mark the end of the warm weather in the outskirts. Three graves in particular are added with their own wooden poles similar to previous graves. Each one adorned with a similar epitaph.

They are buried in a similar fashion to the previous family. The remains repaired to the best of their ability prior to burial and dressed in proper attire to allow for their spirits to take flight. With the early snow, the burial takes more time, and the soil is already freezing by the time it is completed. Ophelia Bell is seen praying at the graves.

— Gored, dug-up remains are found littered by both the graveyard of the Morninglord Temple and at the entrance to the sewer.  Nightfarers report hearing strange sounds around the Western Outskirts on the night of a full moon. Reports of strange claw marks decorate the trees in the area. —

Nearing the early afternoon, a man in a blue coat, a Kinship necklace hanging from his neck slowly walked into the Grey city, accompanied by a woman in fine clothing wearing a black cloak.

Footsteps sound off quietly within the Outskirts graveyard, curiously around certain spots. A murmur can be heard but once:

"...think our graverobber might be something else..."

Talk is abound that a woman in black leathers forcibly crippled her own left arm with a rock, while seemingly under the influence of some kind of charm spell, in front of the Sanctuary. She was eventually stopped and carried off into an inn room in the Lady's Rest. Cries of pain, anger, and wailings of sorrow echoed from the second floor for quite some time, no doubt to the chagrin of anyone also making their stay there.

The Dream-Merchant known as Severine de la Corbeaux appears to have vanished as suddenly as she appeared.

The only trace remaining are the odd scraps of torn up notices advertising her stall. Of where she went, there is no sign.

Unhinged laughter, somber echoes and the murmurs of a crowd can be heard emanating from the gallows in the Western Outskirts. The Midnight Performance was concluded with the sounds of magic, blood, silence and then an applause.

Come dawn, only a small pool of blood and a severed noose remain as evidence of the affair.

Midway though the night the figure known as the night vicar walks in to the outskirts carrying a body of a woman with feathers in her hair. Her usual taunting and playful nature not there. Without a word spoken she places down the body and makes her way away.

A man dressed in the armor of a light carrier sits on an outcrop of land just over the river from the orphanage, Those passing see him holding a small book clenched in his hands as he mourns someone's passing, Come night a dark-clad figure joins him and they talk before the figure fades away into the night and leaves the man to his thoughts.

In the deep of the night, some people can feel an invisible man brush past them -- those that get a good enough glimpse up close, can note a bottle in his hand, and he appears visibly distraught and intoxicated. The sounds of him bumping into some trees or walls can sometimes be heard, until a distant, gutteral moaning into the night signals his departure.

During the night, a shambling husk made from an ancient mass of bones wandered into the outskirts, killing the werewolves and wolves that placed it in danger. Herding the living inside, it didn't hesitate to attack those brave enough to wander into the night, though stayed its hand from killing them outright. Oddly protective, it kept watch until near dawn before returning from whence it came...

The following letter is posted in the outskirts.

Quote
The Revel is not what those in it say it is. You will be told that nothing is done upon the unwilling. That it is about liberation, exploration. They will put emphasis on consent.

But the reality is different. These creatures worship a demon of iadul known as Shivvox, whose name you should not repeat out loud. They say they care about consent but the way this consent is given is none of their concern. They offer drugs in hopes of making addicts of those who partake, to lower inhibitions. They will go as far as to force this on you. They have tricked others into eating human flesh. Vroloks will try to control your mind. They will try to find what you care about, what tugs at your beliefs and use it against you. They will try to make you believe that they are like-minded. Tempt you with promises of power, granting wishes, of change. But it will take things from you. They are bound by this demon to require willing servants of excess.

They will try to make you think that you belong with them. That is too late to go back. It is never too late. No matter what they have deceived you with. No matter what you have done so far. Now matter how far gone you think you are, or how unforgivable. You can still be forgiven. You can still be helped. You can still make things right.

They will tell you that darkness is generous, that it is patient and always wins in the end— But in the heart of it's strength lies it's weakness: one candle is enough to hold it back.

All it takes is the will of one. And that can be your will, too.

If you want a way out, if you have become addicted to the substances they offer, if feel you are lost, if you fear for your life, for your soul, know that you are not alone. So long as I live, I will do what I can to make things right.

Ask for Andrei. You can find me in the Refuge of the Fifth Light in Vallaki, or in the Sanctuary of the Coming Dawn in the outskirts of the city. If you leave a letter for me, leave also a return address.

[The letter ends with a crude signature; the borders marked so no further addition or forgery can be made.]

[A lone rider from the west rode past, her horse bearing a mane of pure flame, its body as black as soot. A terrible whinny escaped the beast as it galloped past passersby. A nimbus of pure darkness trailed in the creature's wake as it made its way towards the Grey City's walls. Most telling of all, the lone guard who sat perched near the gates to watch them anxiously moved to open them for this mysterious woman, just as quickly moving to shut the gates behind her.]
