A heated argument erupted on the outskirts, between a traveler and a leader of knights clad in dark green and black. What began as small provocations soon escalated into a throat-to-throat confrontation. The traveler, in a desperate move, attempted to take the knight by surprise but failed. With instinctual precision, the knight slashed the traveler down. As night slowly brooded, bystanders sensed an unsettling aura in the air. The scene concluded with a rumbling thunder, and the Order of Knights marched away, dragging the slain opponent behind them.

Whispers of a figure clad in all black being seen wandering the western outskirts calling longingly for a lover whom scorned the man. Anguished cries for the appearance of a young woman named Irina can be heard throughout western outskirts field from the gallows to the inn.

Rumors have began to stir as citizens are noticing an increasing number of ritual sites with rotting and decaying meats. People are wondering if this has to with a local crazed person, as each site has the name Ulwaddithri carved into the dirt by the meat ritual sites.

[Yelling could be heard from the Lady's Rest Basement, and at the conclusion of what appeared to be the worst temper ever the Lady's Rest Basement furniture was smashed into peices and left scattered along the room.]

*It is said that after an inspection of the local trash outside the Ladies rest, the Garda known as Adrian Dinescu was heard cursing loudly looking very ill, his partner Moldovanu...pulling what looked to be childrens bodies from the trash that had been stuffed inside...who could have done such a thing?! It is said the Garda took the children to be buried respectfully*

[Rumours and sightings of a confrontation circulate, as a figure bearing black and red confronted two fleeing victims, one of which was promptly cut down. Yet before any further conflict occured a conversation was held with someone who intervened. At the conclusion of said conversation the figure adorned in black and read headed into Vallaki during the deepest hours of the night.]

In the dead of night, pieces of parchment have been left by unseen hands at the tree outside the Lady's Rest. Similar parchments have also been left outside the Guardhouse in the Slums district and the gate of the Citadel. The papers contain a simple verse.

Quote

In a town where shadows whispered low,
Where cobblestones held secrets slow,
There ruled a guard with greed to show,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

His eyes were sharp, his heart was cold,
In lust for power, his soul he sold,
With every lie, his tales were told,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

The townfolk knew his iron grip,
From purses snatched to wine-slicked lip,
Their freedom lost with every sip,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

He’d stalk the town with footsteps light,
In every corner, fed his might,
While cloaked in law, he shunned the right,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

Coins clinking chains within his chest,
He took from poor and cursed the blessed,
In shadowed halls, his sins confessed,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

But justice, though it slumbers deep,
Awakes in time from restless sleep,
And secrets dark it vows to keep,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

A spark, a flame, the truth unfolds,
As brave hearts rise, their courage bold,
No longer will his lies be told,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

The bells now toll for all to hear,
For justice calls both far and near,
The Ratling's reign has met its fear,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

In silent streets where lies fade,
The townfolk walk unafraid,
The Ratling's greed at last betrayed,
Toll the bells, the Ratling’s rattling.

"Listen, then, to these words carried on that breath. These tales are the tales of us all, again yet again. We are history relived and that is all, without end that is all."

Whispers run rampant as rumors of a ghostly glow coming from the forests near the Sanctuary.  Some say there may be ghost lights in the mists, while other claim to have heard chanting and singing.

[A paper with a crudely drawn symbol of a ring made of thirteen serpents, each devouring the tail of the one before it, is posted outside the Lady's Rest Inn.]

On the outskirts of a Valaki, a band of dark green and black knights march with heavy, methodical steps. The knights are clad in worn and battle-scarred armor, adorned with the symbols of Bane and the Obsidian Claw, sinister emblems etched into their breastplates and shields.
The leader of the procession, a man in bloodied, torn armor, walks with a grim resolve. His presence is commanding, yet filled with a sense of relentless brutality.

In the midst of these knights, they carry the corpse of a creature that is clearly inhuman—a grotesque figure with elongated limbs and distorted features. Its lifeless body is impaled on a crude wooden spike upon their arrival. The knights stand guard around the corpse with unwavering vigilance, their expressions hidden behind darkened visors, giving an air of cold indifference.

Upon the Vallaki Garda's arrival, the exchange is tense, with the corpse being handed over in a disdain and careless, the body had insignas of "Bhaal", the Lord of Murder.

In the early hours, a man with an orange sash walked through the outskirts covered in dirt.
His arms were caked up to his elbows in dried blood as he moved towards the west just as quickly as he passed through.

Five jagged lines resembling lightning bolts make the simple symbol of an oak tree.
It is carved into the bark of a tree along the road and on some barrels found in the nearby town.

Hush now, my sweet, it’s time to lay low,
For Granny Toebitter is stirring below.
With her broomstick she sweeps through the dark,
Searching for children, her eyes like a spark.

Her cackle is chilling, her hunger is great,
She’s coming for toes on her twisted plate.
So gather your covers and pull them up tight,
For she loves little feet in the dead of the night.

With a flick of her wrist and a chant from her lips,
She’ll sneak in your dreams, as your laughter eclipses.
So don’t wander too far, stay close to the light,
Or Granny Toebitter will feast on you tonight.
You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.
C.S. Lewis.
