In the darkness of the night, shadows moved about the old gallows, and a new figure swung from the creaking rope.

As quickly as the body is placed a darkonian woman carefully cuts it down before wrapping it respectfully in a cloth. Quickly calmly she moves towards the western gate of Vallaki.

[A woman dressed in ornate design and rose motif is seen wandering with purpose. Her focus absolute as she combs throughout the Outskirts and beyond - leaving lit candles in her wake.
The features upon her face struggle to display emotions, aside from a glimmer of uncharacteristic solicitude reflecting in her visible one-eye.]

[Kleomenes]

One morning, a figure clad in grey and black armour and a white cloak limps back into the outskirts. His armour is corroded and stained by acid burns, and rent by the blows of a mighty blade. He heads back into the city with an expression clouded by pain and determination.

[Soot and Ash]

A woman clad in a dark long dress, mixed with black and purplish colors is seen darting between the shadows of late night. Going in and out of the well, sprinting into the night, only to come back briefly for bits of respite. Never staying to long, only enough to buy something here or there, or to speak with someone. Her pale face revealed her barovian heritage but she seemed to look at her people with almost distrust, distaste even. However, she holds a warm smile to even them. She is often seen heading into the woods, or even down toward the Watchers land.

The comings and goings of the white-clad Ezrite hopeful Emmanuelle have become something of a staple to the comings and goings of the outskirts, so perhaps to some it came as a surprise when she disappeared for some length of time with a half-elven warrior.  She returned only several days later, stitched up in several places, and looking like she had suffered greatly.  She shares a quiet hug with her erstwhile companion, before they go their seperate ways for rest.  What trials did she undergo, away into the night?

A familair elven face posts a notice by the tree in the Vallaki outskirts. The paper itself is decorated with aesthetic writing and a drawing of an elegant black rose at the bottom center of the notice.]

[Taintedglory]

Emily Wilksin, your local Scrivener of Doom and all around nice girl, has been seen getting extra diligent in her duties lately. She has taken it upon herself to clean up the Outskirts graveyard behind the Sanctuary. With a pep in her step, a tune on her lips, and a scythe in hand, she is seen out there keeping the grass and weeds cut down. On top of all this, she took it upon herself to polish and clean all the tombstones.

A face not seen for some time in the outskirts is seen once again: Livu Olmstead emerges from the early night, her armour shattered and body covered in bandages and blood.
What befell the woman in her absence?

Irrespective of what that may be, she quietly retires to the Vistani camp, offering little in the way of word or explanation.

[A large group of Garda could be seen "escorting" a Mulan woman and two other men to the inside of the city of Vallaki. From there, to the Citadel...]

During the night, something seems to have taken place at the front gates of Vallaki. Left as evidence are blackened stains along the large wooden barriers, as well as faint black splatters along the cobbles, nearly washed away by the rain come morning...

At the base of the gallows, where the lawless and unfortunate are hanged, a gruesome sight remains.

In the early hours of the morning, a badly wounded woman limps through the outskirts. Hobbling, with a torn cheek and missing an arm, her leg broken. She is quickly hauled away by a man and a woman into the city.

By the night, a group passes by the night, in frenzied retreat.  "The wolf!" they cry, fleeing towards the city as they pass by that redhead Ezrite and her travelling companions.  This only sets them in the opposite direction searching for it - and find it they do, eventually.  A shout pierces the night: "So it is blood you wish then, wolf!  Well then, you shall have it!"  A violent clash fills the night, and then silence.

The party returns towards the vistani camp by Vallaki not all that long later - Emma covered in blood.  And yet for a claw wound on her leg, it is not her own.

A victory of sorts, it would seem.

The Silence of the Old Noapte is abruptly broken by the sound of gunshots, followed by screams and the blowing of a Garda Horn.

A proud yell in the forbidden Gundarakite dialect is heard, before silence covers again the Barovian night, disturbed only by the laments of injured men.

Strange goings-on in Vallaki and it's environs; a bumper crop of spring mushrooms. Wise Barovians (and others) know to avoid the circular arrangements of fungi that have sprung up overnight - so-called 'fairy rings', for they surely herald the presence of the Fey.
Parents are careful not to let their children out of their sights, lest the Fey snatch them away and replace them. Farmers double-bolt their byres at night, lest the fey sour their goats' milk and waste their horses.

The woman in the black, dishevelled dress and headscarf pushed her glasses further upwards upon her nose as she took notes quickly at each site of the mushroom formations. This was the fifth she had seen now in varying degrees of configration and she'd observed and noted them all down carefully in a journal.

She pinned a letter to the circle just outside of the Temple grounds, eagerly anticipating a response from any who had seen this before... Or what they did.

During a night, a woman's sobbing of pain can be heard quite clearly near the outskirts. It turns into a scream of anguish for a solid dozen seconds before fading out. Some may see a woman wandering about for a moment before and afterwards, cladded in barbaric looking armor, as she looks clearly distraught.

During the night a message is pinned to the recruitment advertisement in the Outskirts, it bears the name of the Burgomaster.

Several days ago, the Morninglord's Sanctuary was assaulted by a group of midnight, moth-winged Mahr under the control of a diminuitve figure in workman's clothes. This pitic, fey, or iadul-spawn Outlander (reports vary), was apparently intent on demolishing the church on the grounds of its 'structural instability'. Following negotiations with the Dawn Cultists and others, the Sanctuary seems to have secured a stay of execution.

More recently, miraculously, the damage was repaired using a stockpile of wood assembled at the base of the church. Such clandestine, speedy work could only have been accomplished by supernatural means.

Musatei Viteazul, the lady Burgomaster of Berez, uses captured Gundarakites as prey in her morbid hunting parties! She and her militiamen catch what Gundarakites they can, rebellious or not, and bring them into the woods and fields to hunt on horseback with spears and crossbows. After her cruel hunt, she has their flesh roasted in her kitchen, and feasts on them! She even feeds them to her children!

Let this monster be known!
