A simple question, if your playing a character from the Forgotten Realms, what point on the FR timeline would you look at for any knowledge and general storyline? I do understand that the game world uses the Barovian Calender, I would just like some clarification about this for continuity sake. At a guess would it be DR 1372?

Any you are comfortable with, you can be from any FR timeline or any other setting for that matter.

Blue once ruled that no 4th edition. Anything else but 4th edition. The thing with the mists is they can pull people from any point in time. It adds to the confusion when outlanders meet.

Wait, so I could get pulled into the mists at age 40 while my son is 5, then my son is pulled 35 years later, but I see him arrive to the mists two minutes later, so we both are 40 years old in ravenloft?

The Mists can pull people from different points in time, so theoretically yes, your example could occur.

The rule against 4th edition stuff is because the game rules and changes made to the various settings were so drastic.

Thanks for clarifying that, it's odd how you forget things like this.

I'd think any pre-Spellplague would cause the least disruption.
