[Rumors Concerning Lamordia.]
« on: February 05, 2017, 11:34:12 AM »
[Merchants and physicians from Lamordia bear some disturbing news from their homeland -- Gerta von Aubrecker, daughter of Baron Vilhelm von Aubrecker and regent of Lamordia, has disappeared without a trace. They say a handsome stranger had arrived at Schloss Aubrecker a few weeks ago, and Gerta found herself smitten, the man somehow melting the most well-known Lamordian spinster's frozen heart. Now, neither this courtier nor the regent can be found, no matter how hard the Lamordian authorities look.

In Ludendorf, Neufurchtenburg, and indeed, all the major settlements of Lamordia, all is well in spite of this, as the mayors and
schultebott continue to quietly govern these towns as they always have -- Vilhelm and his daughter always ruled the country with a light hand. A feeling of malaise can certainly be felt among the populace, but they continue to go about their daily lives regardless.]

It is said that the regent of Lamordia has returned to Schloss Aubrecker, escorted there from Ludendorf by men sworn to her father, Baron Vilhelm von Aubrecker. Apparently, she was kidnapped by the handsome stranger who visited that stately manse a month prior. Despite being alive and outwardly healthy, she seems unwell -- indeed, Gerta von Aubrecker seems to keep to herself, remaining alone in her own bedchambers, and ordering the Baron's men to turn away courtiers at the door. Many are left to wonder what manner of monstrous acts were done to her...

The "happy" news with regards to Gerta von Aubrecker becomes overshadowed by the rumors surrounding the tiny hamlet of Sforza, nestled at the bottom of the Sleeping Beast's southernmost point -- the hamlet is no more, and no one from that hamlet survived whatever transpired there. All that is left of Sforza are burned-down cottages, and blackened char that were, perhaps at one point, people..
