Rodent Wildlife
« on: March 09, 2016, 09:53:13 PM »
Alot of the rodent and small mammals are almost comically over sized, i'm not sure if they are supposed to be that way in dnd or not. But would it be possible to resize to be of a more realistic size, or at least halfling them in size?

Some of the ones iv noticed would be,

Squirrel
Mink
Rat (normal non dire ones)

What do you suggest they be replaced with?

Use the method of invis sized skin, with the appearance as a tail. It allows you some manner of control over the size of some. Not every creature can use such. But i believe most the vanilla appearances have been added to the tail option.

Here is a example;

I did this with just a simple mod of the posted hak order. Thats just a halfling next to a helmed horror.

A normal snake

I would hate having such small models, they would be impossible to target.

Edited.

The creatures targeting still remains sizable enough that you don't have to have your mouse directly square on them. It doesn't even have to be on the creature is self, so long as the mouse comes near it, you can still target it easily enough. Also im not really suggesting this for impossibly deadly things where this would be terribly unfair for a party to all try and target.

Just for rodents to be more realistic. It also fits better with why they are so hard to hit, and they would look less like all rodent life is on roids or something. The rats alone are bigger then a small and medium dog D:

But that just looks SOOOOO weird.... where you see the ghostly outline.. but target is the size of a foot....I mean, to me it is like having the oversize scorpions... I picture the huge fiendish scorpions like... maybe a bit bigger then a Radscorpion from Fallout. and those guys are pretty huge

We actually have a policy against making creatures that small, so this isn't going to happen, sorry.

I think the only thing I have seen that is actually the actual size.. is a mouse.. thing was just so flipping tiny... I laughed.. until I couldn't hit it for like 4 turns and it hit me twice with it's tiny AB

The weasels are of a similar size to what iv shown though O..o? They appear to be rather realistic in size.

They're bigger than what you're suggesting, but they're at the limit of how small we'll allow creatures.

The image was just a example for Dark when he asked how id suggest it be done. I was just asking if the wildlife could be made smaller to look more realistic. Less badger size really. Even just being the size of the weasel would make a huge improvement to their size now.
