YouTube and Privacy settings
« on: December 22, 2015, 04:52:57 AM »
Hey guys,

so I uploaded a video I made for PoTM, and I don't necessarily want it to be something that's randomly searched. I thought of setting it to private instead of public, but I have to ask - can we embed private videos on the forums or does it have to be set to public?

I believe if your video is set to private on Youtube, only friends of yours can see it. Then again, they may have changed that when they merged Youtube with Google+ but I'm inclined to think that it's still the case. Can always try it and find out.

If you set it to unlisted it can't be searched or found anywhere, unless through these forums. People
can find your youtube profile by clicking the youtube video on the the forums though.

I think unlisted also makes it so the video can't be found on your profile (it'll be shown as private), but only accessed if you have the direct link for it.

All my own videos are unlisted which show on my biography fine, just use the URL address as normal :)

As the above said, unlisted is the way to go if you want to show us your video's and keep it relatively private.
