Question on OCR
« on: November 24, 2015, 01:44:49 AM »
I have a PC who has a decently high OCR. It get's them in trouble, but I can buff up to be below the listed "16" threshold. Yet when I enter cities, while they don't attack me. They refuse to interact with me. In particular the banks and place I am employed. It wasn't always like this. I took a hiatus and returned to this, so I can't say when it changed. So... any advice, or clarification to ensure I'm not glitched, would be appreciated.

Are you a sorcerer and/or wearing armor?

Not in Dementlieu, it works differently there. It takes a higher score for NPCs to become hostile but I don't have exact numbers.

ImAll4HPserver, your character is a fey'ri which is probably why it's so high. I'm not sure though, it seems weird that 14 OCR is having that kind of reaction, I thought 14 was more common than that. Does your character have wings and a tail? I wonder if the system takes those into account, I'm not certain the exact mechanics of OCR or NPC reactions in Dementlieu.

It might be unrelated, might be related, but my tiefling logged in after the hak update with a massive OCR jump as well. Pre-hak I was able to pass by most NPC's, because with charisma and influence gear I was under the hostile rating, even in Barovia. Now it says I have a +88 mod, and I haven't even taken it out in public but once, at night.

oh right. They don't turn hostile in Dementilieu. But I think they dislike you at the same point

The  thing is why do you have such high base OCR in dementlieu to begin with?

Bombed a soccer match and shot it out with the gendarmes at a rock concert would be my guess.

Or even worse, wore the wrong outfit that day.

That is in extremely poor taste.

Well I agree with him. Your last two comments were beyond unacceptable for these forums.

To get back to the original topic, were you by any chance wearing heavy armor? :)

If so, it raises your perceived OcR by 3 for NPCs.

I was wearing cloth, and yes I do have wings, though the cloak did remove their models from being visible. -shrug-

I can't speak for Fey'ri, but I know a couple RDD that are unable to enter Port without the same reaction by NPC's who have horns and wings.
