Vallaki - Nobles' District
« on: September 20, 2006, 07:29:54 PM »
In passing a noble lady speaking to a gentleman regarding the rule of the city "It's said that the Romulich family seeks to supplant the Ionelius family as the Burgomeister of Vallaki.  How they expect to succeed since the Ionelius family is much larger is hard to say."

...Blown up, the statue of Stradh Von Zarovich exploded into pieces with one of the most violent explosions ever witnessed in Vallaki- Nobles speak of gathered crowd of Outlanders near the statue- witnesses speak of two particular men- sons of ''Gundar''...

...Rumors of Vallaki guard seeking two particular men- maybe more, but talks of Outlanders involved in this scandal already begin to be the hot topic on the lips of Outraged Nobles...

The harpist at the Blue Water whispers excitedly to the pianist, "Three masked people approached Lieutenant Johnus the other night, and claimed to be the "Sons of Gundar" who blew up the Count's Statue..."  The pianist replies, equally excited, "The Lieutenant came down and reassigned all the guards on duty to street patrol and replaced them with others, he mentioned it being their second failure."

The Bishop descends from his upstairs suite; his cape, fit for the Count, slides gently down the stairs; at his arm, a certain lady dressed fit for a countess.  He smiles to Lieutenant Johnus before they join the nobles in the parlor.  Some of the noblewomen gossip idly concerning the identity of his new companion...

This same woman is seen speaking crazily to herself and others about someone named Carmac, and demons stalking her.  Some of the noblewomen wonder why the Bishop allows her in his company, then think perhaps he is available again.

Rumor spreads throughout the city, beginning in the nobles' district... Due to the awful instances of rampant crime, the nobles are demanding that the city begin registering all outlanders and Gundarakites and establish checkpoints where the guards will check those passing for suspicious behaviors and possessions

Many Nobles gathered in front of the fountain speak of a Leprous stenched man cursing the whore Madison; several others speak of similar occurances, unfortunate ones claiming the contracting a disease after having slept with the ''infamous'' whore. Wives seem to wonder, yet few men exchange alarmed glares at the shouting accusations.

Despite rumors, the prostitute has lost only a handful of clients, and quickly replaced them with new ones.  She assures her clients that nothing is amiss in her health, and business seems to go on as usual.

Guests of the Von Zeklos family speaks in hushed tones of a band of bards that played at one of their evenings, two fey with flamming hair and another with a blond beard, they did quite the impression on the evening with their music but again their nature is not something the guests will speak of openly.

Stela Cojocaru - barovian snake
Crina Ovidiu - barovian guard

Rumour begin to spread that a merchant named Markov is trying to match his daughter Tatyana with a man of noble birth, to make matters worse she comes without a dowry. The whole matter would seem ridiculous were it not for her incredible beauty, her high level of achievement in the arts, and her exotic light hair colour , only seen a few times each generation among true Barovians. Many young noblemen wonder if there parents would accept such a match.

Rumour has it that an old tradition has been revived. Some of the young women of the Noble quarter (almost all having studied in other countries) have revived the Black Umbrella Club, a civic minded social club of unknown but ancient origins. It is known that Tatyana Markova has just been made treasurer and that the club is very focused on its "Slum Beautificaton" project. The leading goal at the moment is a statue of Lord Stahd himslef to uplift the people of the slums, subject to city approval of course. Social events and charitable goals will be all the talk for the young men and women of the district.

//OOC this is a ficticious club with no members, it seemed a useful rp tool for the moment and I shall try to make it seem real . If there are other Barovian female aristocrats out there that are interested in such a thing, please let me know, we can meet for tea. I am hoping maybe I can have some npc members so that it is "real"?

The nobles whisper among themselves of evil messages written in blood. The name of Drudoc and the line "Vasham was here" written at the scene of a horrible slaughter in the blood of a mutilated gypsy..

Rumour has it a certain Markov has paid several recent visits to the Romulich estate recently including one visit for which his lovely daughter Tatyanna was with him. Could a match be in the air or does Mr Markov simply thing his daughters charms will help some business deal ?

Rumour has it that the recent collapse in mink prices has all but ruined the Markov family which was finally returning to a respectable footing. Due to the setbacks they will no longer be buying furs and a dowry for young Miss Markova is now unlikely. It seems that negotiations for her wedding to Petru Romulich have been called off and many wonder if it more to do with her recent association with Bishop Cornelius rather than the families poor fortunes.

On another note, the Black Umbrella Club recently declared at their last meeting that the Slum Beautification project will be abandoned. It has become clear that they simply would not be able to appreciate what was to be done for them. They will therefore now focus their attention on aiding the poor orphans of Barovia. An auction will soon be held to raise money for this noble cause, all donations are to be given to the Treasurer Miss Tatyana Markova .

Some have said that they seen the Miss Isabella von Stark talking to the hired messenger, And recieved a letter. She was all smiles for many hours after words. So one can only assume she was invited to the luncheon and by the looks she is most definitely going to be in attendance.

Rumour has it that due to poor health Lady Romulich has stepped down as President of the Black Umbrella Club and appointed none other than Tatyana Markova. This set of a chain of events resulting in Miss Echers elevation to Treasurer and Vice President and Miss van Starks move to Secretary.
In othr news, it is said that at the Annual Spring Luncheon Miss Markova announced her engagement to none other than Captain Vasham of the Boyar guard, the watch is on to see who will be invited to what promises to be the social event of the year.
