male character making female clothing
« on: August 18, 2015, 07:49:02 PM »
I have just recently made a new character for port a lucine that i plan to be a tailor selling outfits to other pc's. I know how it is possible to adjust the clothing apearance through the craft menu but as my character is male this only lets me make male clothing. Is there a way for a male character to make female clothing?

When i do this, i just have the numbers for the female parts memorized. You can still access them on a male, but they come out looking nude or invisible.

But how do i know how those parts look? I mean how can i design a dress for instance if i cannot see how (parts of) it look(s)?

Well that's the trick. See, i am one of THOSE people who memorized the whole appearance modification menu for both genders >_<. I just made a female and played with clothes until I was sure i had it down.

I have also been tempted to make a Fashion thread with different design and their numbers.

You might want to put a request in the systems thread on creating a male and female crafting mannequin that would allow for those types of crafting modifications.  I think it would be a great idea, and make life easier for those who want to RP being a seamstress or a tailor.

Wow!  I don't think i would be able to do that. I guess i could use a female character in an ooc area to design the clothes first and then make them ic. Still it would be nice if there would be manaquins for this

There are two suggestions I have for you then. First you could write down the numbers that correspond to the male and female clothing components until you have a complete list. Alternatively, you could ask for a female PC to help you and even get RP out of it. Just have them wear it and modify it for you. ICly you treat it as if you're making alterations and just give them the coins to finish the crafting. Also, doing it this way lets you craft clothing for people made to their personal liking.

a female assistant would be a good RP investment.

I definatly was planning on doing custom fitting so that i will do for sure.

And for my shop examples i will use the female in ooc and writing down method.

Or maybe Tycats fashion thread...  ;)
