Technically you can, most classes hold as aspect of meele fighting which are more determined by stats. So by going generic fighter you're choosing str most likely and are a strength based fighter. Going rogue would mean you are more of a dexterous fighter and thus gain the ability for being nimble enough to sneak up on someone. I -HIGHLY- doubt the muscled brute in full plate, or other clinky armor is going to successfully sneak up on anyone.

However you can multiclass over into Rogue to begin gaining such to bring the two fighting styles together as you're char learns them. Which is exactly how the cross skills work. You wont ever be as good a rogue as someone who focuses only on learning such, or as good as a fighter who only focuses on battle technique what focuses on strength. With skills you sacrifice points else where to take other skills.

Anyone can learn how to pick a lock with enough determination. I could see how adding charges to the picks instead. it makes me think of the Elder scroll game Morrowind where they have charges and uses until they break. novice lock picks having about 20 uses, and grandmaster had about 100 uses... these uses went by quick depending on your security skill.

So adding the charges would in the end make them weigh less since you only need to carry so many than. how ever as stated before as well this would mean changing the picks all together,  which could take a long time..

For now ithink it might just be best for folks ot carry picks only as needed until a good solution comes up.

To get back on topic, we should lower the weight of lockpicks in the next hak update.
