"Brothers and sisters, citizens all – the reign of the wretched tyrant Foquelaine has ended! The miserable chickenhawk fell from his nest at an opera's premiere, and his supporters have all either died defending his roost or fled! The question that likely rests on the lips of all in Dementlieu is, of course, 'what now?'
Shall we be going back to the way things were under the reign of the corpulent pig Marcel Guignol? The answer, of course, is a resounding NON, my friends! Have we slain the one holding our leash, only to hand that leash over to a new master or mistress, in the hopes that he might be nicer? Again, the answer is NON! Shall we let those who were directly responsible for our suffering, the aristocratic supporters of Guignol's regime, of Foquelaine's regime, go unpunished? NON, I say! Shall we let Pauline Jenout's death to have been in vain? NON, I say again!
We shall right all the wrongs that were ignored by the governments of the past! We shall have a government that answers to the common man, and attends to the needs of all! All who are Dementlieuse shall have a say, all who are citizens shall have a voice! In the meantime, we who compose the vanguard of the revolution have formed the Grand Assembly, a legislative body made up of all walks of life, not just the crème-de-la-creme. We represent your interests! We represent your hopes, your dreams! We represent the future of Dementlieu!
Of course, there are those who wish to see the old regime restored. There are those who wish things to be brought back to the way things were. These counter-revolutionaries need to be ferreted out, and revealed to us. Bring to the attention of the Gendarmerie any and all who may be working against the new government, against the change we seek to bring! We thank you, of course, for your vigilance and service to the cause.
Long live the revolution!
