ravenloft_1_95.tlk
« on: August 16, 2014, 03:37:15 AM »
Just got a new computer running windows 8, DL'd everything and set it all into the correct files but when I try to log in it says I do not have this file.  But I do, I have it in four different places now.  Someone tried sending me their own file and that did not work, and I even DL'd the music pak and put another copy in there because somebody had said that fixed it for them.  However that did not work either, it is still saying I need that file and only that file.  Any advice?

The file needs to go in your neverwinter nights/tlk folder.

I have a tlk folder in and out of my nwn folder and put the file inside of both with only negative results.

Your .tlk and .hak files need to be stored in this kind of folder structure:

1:
Spoiler: show

NeverwinterNights Folder off your main hard drive directory:

2:
Spoiler: show

NWN subfolder (This may or may not be necessary):

3:
Spoiler: show

To play on PotM, you need a HAK and TLK folder. Check they exist in the right directories:

4:
Spoiler: show

Check the file belongs in this folder, check the naming of the file, and check the filesize. It should match:

5:
Spoiler: show

This is where you store your .hak files. These are considered to be the custom content multiplayer servers use:

You can ignore a lot of these files in there I have (I haven't cleaned it out for awhile and some don't belong)

As far as I can tell I am good to go.  I noticed you had a couple more CEP tlk files then me, but that doesn't seem to be my issue.  My ravenloft_1_95.tlk was 8.09 MB, which I assume is equal to yours as it was in KB.  I installed this on a new computer, updated NWN, installed the cep 2.4a I needed which was listened in the 'downloads' section of the homepage of this website.  I also DL'd the Ravenloft hakpak and even the music package.  I missing anything, or perhaps do not have the newest something?

** By good to go I meant my files matched up, not that I can get IG yet.  Still having the same issue.

i had that problem as well but I renamed what I had from ravenloft.tlk to ravenloft_1_95.tlk.  For some reason that worked.  However, now I am missing the new update because it is telling me that I am missing a bunch of .hak files when I try to log in.  I tried to go to Rapidshare where it is supposed to be but it tells me the file no longer exists.  I am really interested in trying to play this site as my son told me that it would probably be somewhere I would enjoy playing.  I haven't played in a few years and would really like the opportunity to try again.  Please send HELP!!!

Do some screenshots of the error message and your directories w/ the files.

Check your nwn.ini references the right locations under [Alias] as well.

I went through my NWN files and found that CEP24 had not broke down into the proper areas so I moved them into .hak, etc.  However I am still missing the following files:
rl_2da_v195b.hak
ctp_goth_estate.hak
ctp_goth_int.hak
ctp_exp_elf_city.hak
ctp_loadscreens.hak
ctp_common.hak

Sounds like something went wrong with your extraction and/or install. I'd just reinstall everything, personally.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that would solve anything, but now it is saying I am having compatibility issues and NWN won't even launch for me.  Bleh.

Need some help getting the Raven_1_9h.tlk file in order to play.  I've been off-line for over a year and now trying to access all the old haks, etc, etc, and have found that a lot of the old resources are gone.  Any one have the direct link to the the file? And let me know if there is any other file that I might need and its link.

Thanks, B

Here is a question.... I have that tlk and i transfered everything over to my new computer so I can stop playing on my laptop....

However out of everything that transfered over my portraits are now white, and it is saying i'm missing the 1_95.tlk when i'm looking right at it.

ANy reasons it shouldn't be working? and is there an easy fix?

This happened to me earlier this week no joke.

I uninstalled and did a clear re-install and it worked.
