Graphic lag when loading new models/textures.

I got this huge lag everytime I am loading new textures and such for a first time when on map. For example we get down to Crypts and my character opens doors to main central chamber that is usually filled with undeads. Game freezes after opening, until all those things are loaded. As it's real time, I can sometimes get massively mashed before it's playable again.

There are certain creatures that lag more than others, as some do not lag for all. Problem also exists even when loading things like "feywood tree" and player models, especially ones using customly made outfirts(but not all!) and is directly related to some uncompressed textures.

Any way of fixing it without playing with hak files?

I have similar laggspikes, although they're usually only very brief.
It's definitely not because my PC doesn't meet the requirements.

Especially noticeable when a lot of character models enter my viewing range at once.

Even though I have a fairly new laptop, I get the same issue every now and then.. I find setting the graphic settings to 'fast' and disabling the sky boxes helps

No idea. It could be any interactive objects (the ones that glow when you hold tab), but it might only be happening with the more detailed models. I'm not sure.

No idea.

That is as specific an answer as I have right now. If I happen to come across a feywood tree, I'll try to remember to post here.
Currently playing a character in Port-A-Lucine. Finding feywood trees in the Quartier Publique is not as easy as you might think!

If I had to guess, the lag spikes are likely happening with independent objects like feywood trees and other complex creatures/players models because of the complexity of the models they are giving your computer some rendering problems. In some games people have to be very mindful of polygon count and model complexity because it can cause some processing lag for older machines. It may also be a delay in your connection loading information about the new models as they become visible.

I had these problems on my old computer. It could not handle rooms full of monsters/players and would often chug or crash.

Yes, this does occur with the Feywood Tree model for me as well. A very brief, but noticeable stutter when it comes in sight.
But as I said, it's only minor for me, half a second at best. Optimising or lowering your video settings seems to have an effect.

You could also check if you can run your game with better compatability and stuff, by right-clicking the game icon and going to properties.

the feywood tree is good for a 4 second stutter/ and on occasion crash. So is the horse in the Barovia - Vallaki - southern farms.

Most of the listed issues are due to model complexity and cannot be fixed.

changing the models to an alternate that has less polygons will fix the issue. There are several trees, and horses that do not give this effect.
