Game lags when I update to 1.69
« on: February 24, 2014, 03:51:29 AM »
Whenever I update  to 1.69 and login to the multiplayer the game starts stuttering so bad I can't play. I have a Radeon AMD 6970 video card and i've never had any problems with NWN before a few months ago, could the problems i'm having be with my driver version?

Any help anyone can give me would be appriciated.

Have you updated your Radeon's drivers in the last few months? If so, try rolling back to an earlier version of the driver.

Yea I tried that and the earliest version I can get on the ATI site which is 12.1 still comes up with the same problem, I know it'll work with the 11.4 driver version but I can;t get that on the site anymore and when I try to DL it off other sites the C ++ install in the package won't installl.

I'll add that to the list of reasons not to get ATI video cards. What you should do is get yourself an nVidia instead. Now, if you can't find an older driver online... is there not the option to rollback the driver as Blue said? Given that I haven't owned an ATI Radeon in about 10 years now, I could be wrong about this, but one thing you can try: go to your device manager (usually in the control panel) and find your ATI card. There should be the option to roll back the driver in the properties section. Again, I might be wrong but it's worth a look if that's all that your problem is.
