Broken forum link?
« on: January 06, 2014, 12:27:33 PM »
Is it just me or is someone else also experiencing this bug? It seems that when I type in www.nwnravenloft.com as an URL and I try to click on "Forum" I end up in nothing. To get to the forum I have to use my URL history or search it via google or yahoo. Using FireFox this error occured to me on several PCs where I had tested it.

It happens to me also and I'm pretty sure it's been reported somewhere recently. I usually just keep this link around if I need to get to the forums http://www.nwnravenloft.com/forum/index.php

It works fine for me. I am using Chrome if that helps.

I thought it was only me, I started to discover this problem circa a week ago. I have to right click on the forum icon and press "Open as a new tab" in order for me to get here through the main page.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox.

Believe it or not, the most helpful error message appears when you try to load the page in Internet Explorer (mine is Internet Explorer 10).

Some Firefox console stuff:

[12:35:11.506] Load denied by X-Frame-Options: http://www.nwnravenloft.com/forum/index.php does not permit cross-origin framing.
[12:35:11.715] TypeError: this._containers is undefined @ resource:///modules/devtools/MarkupView.jsm:331

I've never had this issue with any browser. It's probably something in your settings blocking frames as in Bad_Bud pointed out. It could also be caused by some types of pop-up blockers.

It's still not working. I tried it on several computers from several different places. It seems not to work under firefox. Running Adblock but even when deactivating this it does not work. The screen is quite similar to the one BadBud had posted.

Perhaps it's a regional error?

Did you try posting "www." before the address? I believe I ran into that problem once, without putting that. And, while I know it sounds silly, that's what fixed it for me.

The links at the top are to absolute addresses rather than relative ones.  If they were relative I think it wouldn't matter if you put in the www or not.  The browser is considering www.nwnravenloft.com and nwnravenloft.com to be separate domains.
