I have no idea what any of that means.

Problem with the ATI drivers, could be a half-dozen things. Hard to say, and I have very little experience with ATI. :/ All you can do is google things like "0xa0000001 NWN" and see if you can find anyone out there who's come across a solution.

Not sure how helpful this is, but I'm posting it anyway:

Had a similar problem with Windows 8.1.

I reverted back to 8 and it now it works fine.

I am unsure if its 8.1, there's nothing to suggest there is, but there is also nothing to suggest it isn't. I am thinking the dual core and the video card is the problem. I may take this machine back and get the smaller one, with an Intel card rather than AMD. Non of the fixes I've found in the NWN support channels seem to be helping.

-Shiny water is off (regardless, I don't even make it pas the loader screen where you select Play, DM, Toolset, Options, ect.)
-Skyboxes are off
-Afinity is set to -2, -1, 1, 0, so on. I've tried every setting.
-Compatibility is set to every possible variation available, and I cant even access config anymore.
-reinstalled several times

I run NWN currently with Windows 8, not 8.1, using a quad-core setup, with dual video cards, and it runs perfectly.

Turn off ALL your visual settings (Antialiasing, etc). Sometimes there's a conflict with the game trying to do anti-aliasing while your video card tries to do it as well.

Yeah i got it working on the first computer I upgraded to, which had windows 8. The Asus I got didn't run it well, it was all blurry. This one just wont even start up the movies, sometimes not even the launcher.

I am starting to think its corrupted or broken RAM.

I installed my latest video drivers, and other needed hardware drivers, when I reinstalled Windows recently.
Other than that, I didn't do anything special.

EDIT:

In looking at your specs, it may have something to do with the AMD chipset. Does it use the integrated AMD graphics,
or a dedicated card?

That was more directed at Tycat, but you shouldn't need to open your case to find out. My suspicion is that it might have something to do
with the AMD processor for Tycat, but Dell rarely uses AMD chips so... idk. I've seen NWN run fine on Windows 8 PCs with Intel graphics from
both Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge. Possibly Haswell causes an issue? It shouldn't be the OS. Are all your drivers up to date?

Well I got a final return on that last machine. It was having other problems besides NWN. It would bog down severely running too many programs. Something that any other computer should be able to handle with 1 gb of ram. So I got something else, and everything is a-ok now. I think it was the AMD and some broken ram drivers.

I sure hope so. Mind you, it's going to be a crap shoot from here on out. OpenGL is becoming obsolete and as new hardware and software comes out, it's going to be harder and harder to find a rig that'll run NWN.

Well, this version of OpenGL. However, doesn't NWN run under DirectX on Windows?

Not that I'm aware of. All of my crashes are caused when the OpenGL emulator thing seizes up. :/

I am having some issues. Everything is playing beautifullly - the graphics, the art programs i use, nwn, my windows, everything. In nwn i am seeing large red blocks. I am going to tweak some settings and see if i can't fix it. And yea, even the sales guys told me my problems were trying to run nwn
