Yeah seriously, we should just buy the game and chip it apart and put it back together and sell that as Ravenloft Nights or something.
Outside of installation and pre-debugging (still on it), the biggest problems are seriously that they drew all the polygons before the maps and then imposed the polygons on top of each other over the map instead of imposing the map over the polygons and writing all the pathfinding to the processor.
I can't think of a single reason why they didn't figure this out and just release an update and fix every single problem with the game and work from there, no loading screens, no massive heaps of debugging every time you want to write a variable somewhere. This is 2013 going on 2014 and we still sit around staring at 5 second loading screens with archaic technology.
After we write that ENGINE, we could just copy-paste all the lore here, dump it on a another forum and start fresh with a modern game.
And while we're add it, we should program another dimension to the game: (x,y,z) [depth], IV (time), and V:
[wiki=]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five-dimensional_space[/wiki]
And call that DM-TIME-SPACE.
Dm's would be in DM time space, and the game would flow normally outside it, and they could insert time variable configurations on a custom GUI interface.
Dm's could then be PLAYERS, and push a BUTTON to make an EVENT happen from a group of variable EVENTS from a side-tray to surprise themselves and other players and rp out the consequences.
What you think?
