Now I know these aren't in the game yet, but I've been fiddling around with them in the toolset and I wanted to make you aware of this: They are held in one hand and look redonk and because they are set under tridents.. which are one handed now. They are also now martial weapons unlike pistols which are exotic.

Why not make them a new exotic weapon with the two handed melee so you at rest carry them on your shoulder and use them in that fashion?

Since you're probably going to be fixing the haks, maybe consider doing that? ...otherwise they are going to look seriously silly.

Odd, we made them tridents to make them 2-handed (they were originally spears).

Make them in a Mercurial Greatsword?

Current in game tridents are set to one handed use, have been ever since all the spears were made to be one handed.

Yeah - I'd also recommend them being their "own thing" like pistols so you can make them exotic. Since.. I think that was the whole argument for why pistols were exotic, being while they are "simple", they're "foreign".

It's pretty easy to make new weapons. Though I guess you already assigned the trident (which is a martial weapon) their model.

Might be worth turning pistols into bludgeoning weapons as well for pistol whipping while you're in there. Hahah.

Use the item wizard, pick strident that doesn't say 'one handed', voila.

The reason we didn't make a new item type was mainly due to time constraints. It might be that we change that later though.

Muskets will have better accuracy than pistols, correct?

All tridents are one handed. The ones added in the Bioware patches and can be focused in are one handed, the CEP ones are still one handed. If you look in the base items .2da you will find them both having that same animation designation. Which makes sense, tridents are one handed weapons.

Want me to do it for you guys when I get a few? I love to help.

No, it will have the same script for shooting. The advantage of muskets is that they have a bayonet, so they can be used as a melee weapon as well.

A side-effect of this as well is that we can now duel-wield muskets.

In the vanilla game tridents added were two handed large weapons...... I've never heard  of them being on handed outside of haks or overrides

We did that here last hak update, the default NWN ones were made one handed. However - no one uses tridents so very few people use them.

I only used them when I roll up stereotypical angry farmers.

Also: Give these badboys a look. More guns you could use later + arquebusier (the thing before the musket).

They likely won't use those as they said before because they overwrite the ranged weapons present. Unless just the models were used

Oh yeah, they should know I'm not advocating their method of adding guns. Our system is good enough! The models however are baller.

So any word on the musket weapon type switch?

"You left the campfire back in the field. The entire grass field is on fire. Smokey the Bear is on the edge of the field, on his knees, sobbing into his hands."

Heh, I do want to edit the texture for the muskets but don't know what I'd need to do...

The ones shown in Geiger's picture are in need of a texture upgrade.
