id like to see deadly brigands on that road at night


is there a way for NPCs to subdual damage you and if you fall they nick gold and leave? :)

we have the lovely subdual damage system id like to see a lot more non-deadly violence in places like seedy bars and streets that spawn random encounters :)



City of Arabel has this one interesting quest- every now and then a -really- hard group of brigands spawns on one of the roads at night. If you defeat them the leader has 'papers' on him. and having such in your possession lets you through a specific trigger to enter a mission you cant get any other way. you keep the papers in your inventory until reset.


i could see a -lot- of instances where such could be implemented here.

rescue hostages/ stop kidnappers, cultists, thieves, assassins/ go on treasure hunt

something like the keys you use to get in the church in barovia village but where you only have a small window to act on it.

such missions might even give or take rep points for you in that domain if you succeed/ fail?


im also a big fan of picking up mission items that trigger random encounters as you travel. so say if you take a shipment of the rare wine somewhere- the entire way there is fret with danger. and as you leave the area the threats despawn so they dont wipe out other players.
