The Unspeakable
« on: March 08, 2013, 01:05:45 AM »
As Old Night claims the land, the lies of color disappear, the chicanery of candlelight is suffered by none, the feeble flickers of self affirmed truths wavering in its grandeur.

Old Night's Eye witnesses all, surveils all, condemns all with the constant assault of its temporal power that subdues all lesser things.

Thoughts On Stefania Milea

Quote
It seemed the Heretic had abandoned the use of their blood-colored robes and the false idolatry of their elevation of Saint Igrayne Blaith the Sorrowful.

In fact, she carried no holy symbol at all - but still she channeled the powers she claims come from Ezra - using Her longsword.

We may never know precisely what infernal power Milea actually draws upon - what is known is that the arcane powers, "Magus Armor" and "Skin of Stone" are certainly not powers from Ezra.  Whether her vanity or her sympathies toward Ianescu's flesh cult indicate ties to the Keybearer, one cannot be certain.

How many times I have watched her... Use the granite, symbolizing the vile powers of the land, together with the dust of diamonds, symbol of Milea's vanity, sprinkled on her skin.

How she so deliberately invited the Mists of Death to inhabit her bodily, when she invoked the Beasts That Rend, that strip of cured leather granting her powers of fell and daemonic creatures alike to fend off blows that her soft Borcan skin should never endure as she made it to.

These profane invocations... your favorite, Ezra's true blessings secondary, to invoking these vile powers first.

That sword... given to you by Zebra, the Templar you killed in front of us all.  Did Milea carry this as some kind of trophy of a friendship deceived?  I wouldn't doubt Borcans keeping such things.

Your blood stained the sand; your life buried as the sun bleached the blemish in just a day, and neither the dead gods or nations of the core were moved by your passing.

Manusa Whore.  You think it was Ezra giving you a sublime vision of Milea's peril?  No.  The infernal powers told you to leave Barovia that day, after you hadn't been seen for weeks.

What the Mists of Death didn't show you, in your heroic vision, was that the Vistani had closed the caravan that day.  The day, like so many others, that the Mists around Barovia became impossible to escape.  Yet I strode in on those Mists, in Ezra's grace.

Yes, I returned to Barovia just in time to find you there.  You think you're so clever.  And you would rely on a Heaven's Armor potion - such a misnomer, this is nothing more than the same odious magick your former Sentire exalts.

The Sight was weak with you, but you saw it in me.  You should have told the tribes, but you're no more loyal to them than you are your own church.  Now you can protect Milea's moil for eternity, as was always your wish in life.
