Suggestion - Player Generated Signs
« on: February 02, 2013, 09:35:33 PM »
Hi,

Sorry if this has been posted before (or if it already is in the module) and I missed it, but I think a nice feature for merchants in particular or for roleplay in general would be sign items that players could create and post. My idea of it is an item that players could buy much like the blank pieces of paper currently in the module. Players could use the @write command to set the title and text, then when they use the sign item and target it at a spot on the ground, it would create the proper placeable.

Another thing that works is the "@mark [title] description" command.

"You left the campfire back in the field. The entire grass field is on fire. Smokey the Bear is on the edge of the field, on his knees, sobbing into his hands."

I think some more player spawned placeables like the candles, birdcages, and chests would be nice, though. A sign that one could name would certainly be welcome, even though we do have @mark.

Or, maybe make the @write script work on those Easels? That would be great for artists setting up events, or even to be used as signs :)
