Ordo Humanitas
« on: January 25, 2013, 01:33:53 AM »
[Posted throughout Vallaki and the Mist Camp in Balok and Common.  A few copies are in High Mordentish.]

Gods seek not to better the lives of men.  They play the loyal like cards, simply gambles of fate. The greatest evils arose from religion.  Those of humanity must know that one can be moral without the dogma of religion.

The godless are not alone.

Posters have been refreshed, and a new one has been posted.

"Interested in joining a society of humanists who believe that man does not need religion to do good?  Contact Aurore by mail.  We are in no way affiliated with militant factions.

Donations are open for our first food and clothing drive."

An inky scrawling has circled and emphasised every reference of Humanity.

Also included, is a small footnote.

The Ordo is looking for volunteers to place and refresh posters, as well as guards for our charity drives in the event of armed protest from religious zealots seeking to sabotage a charity event to help the needy.

The Ordo is also seeking full time members.

*A poster has been defaced with a perfectly sketched Human Skeleton, half covered in muscle* "Man's degeneration from life to death takes no divine interaction, as neither does the generation of conception to senility. Medical knowledge is based only upon the degeneration and generation of tissue. The ability of manipulation of the weave allows for quick healing, but the ability to restrain from such is to put one's faith in humanity. Therefore, as a doctor, I would seek to give you my help.

Signed

Times of strife are not times to resort to UNETHICAL behavior, or to give into the dogma of faiths with extreme views.

The Ordo Humanitas is calling for the burning of all infected corpses.  All infected individuals should be gathered and set aside from the healthy population IMMEDIATLY to slow infection!

All infected clothing, building should be closed off until they can be properly cleaned!

*A note posted on the edge of the vallaki notice board. Folded, sealed with two snakes entwined at the tail, biting one another and signed 'A.

As the weeks pass, the posters disappear, fading into the clutter of Vallaki's garbage ridden streets, only passing mentions of the Ordo falling upon deaf ears.  As quickly as it came, it faded.

What has become of the Ordo and its leader?  Did its word go unheeded?  Will someone take up the mantle she left?

The Ordo Humanitas urges for everyone to remain calm.  Hope flickers on the horizon.

Look to your friends, your loved ones.  Find peace in life, find peace in the good deeds you have done, in the joy of companionship.

No matter how dark the night, the sun always rises.

A new day will always come.

Find peace in humanity.

The Ordo Humanitas is accepting members!  See Aurore, or send a letter if you are interested!

[Posted in the Vistani settlements are slightly different posters.]

The Ordo Humanitas is accepting members from all racial backgrounds.  NOTE:  If you are feared in Barovia and similar areas, you are not exempt from the laws there.  Caliban and the like will need to remain out of sight during the day to prevent the premature disbanding of the Ordo by governmental influences.
