Barovian Village Well
« on: April 26, 2012, 06:23:34 PM »
Noticed this while moving through the dungeon with a party, the traps a bit to high for the loot they offer, we were getting traps that were doing like 104 electrical dmg for a a few pieces of master work items or dwarven made items. . .

As well, for how long the dungeon takes to go through and all that seems like it should be at least a little rewarding. . .

Sorry I'm late responding to this, are you referring to the traps on the treasure chests?

I was with Mious party that went into the well, yes the traps were rather high for the look that was dropped. Example: 100+ electrical dmg for a dwarven quality armor and like 20 gold.

It's generally a very unrewarding dungeon. It's long, repetitive, the spawns give poor XP, and the loot is poor too.

There is a secret which you need to acquire from that well to investigate something else. Will not spoil that secret here.

eh, I don't mind.

The secret thing mentioned is one of the reasons the dungeon is very difficult.

I'll add the treasure chests to the things I need to work on, though.

The something else to investigate isn't so worth the difficulty of this dungeon either :P

Blue just an idea for that well.

Maybe add some undead that belonged to the Order of the Feather, like have armor or necklace or something. Maybe some notes or something that described their grimly demise.

I have enjoyed this since it was put in, it has only ever been attempted by groups or duos I was a part of about 6 times, and I have only ever fully completed it once to get the end goal safely in inventory.
The main issue with it is the vastness of the place combined with the frequency of the server either crashing or needing to be reset. I usually have to cut it short because a DM is asking for a reset.
I need to get a block of time to play right after a reset before I will attempt to completed it again due to its vastness and frequency of encounters. Other than that, I enjoy the one way trip test of wits and endurance.

can always ask the dm who resets to port the whole group back to the last location/room you where in no?   i think all dm's know how big it is so i dont think theyd deny such a request.

Well, I would try that, I did actually consider it this most recent time. Macabre would probably had granted it, but I would have had a hard time describing where in the midst of all the fedex quests we were hehe.

I really enjoy the place, the difficulty in actually completing it, is part of its charm.

Late bump, but when I have the time I plan on making it possible to leave the way you entered, and improving the loot in the area.
