Performance profiling and lag
« on: January 24, 2012, 03:40:50 AM »
Hey all,

I've been doing some performance profiling for the last 24 hours, but I'm curious how much it itself affects performance. Has the lag seemed particularly bad in that period or more or less the same?

There's been a couple of crashes of late. I don't know if that might be related.

It's been pretty bad for me. I've got a hard time equipping or de-equipping items especially.

I'm talking specifically about the last 24 hours though, so it's only a matter of comparing those to the last week or so.

Thanks :)

I think there's been two "hard" crashes/resets in the past 24 hours or so, which is notably more common than in my experience. I'd say the lag hasn't been noticeably worse, but maybe I'm just not good at noticing it!

Alright, well, I should have gathered enough data in a day or two, so I hope you can live with it for a bit more.

On the plus side, it should help reduce the lag in the future.

I feel like if you let people know that there is something going on that might increase lag, then you immediately are going to get a lot of placebo effect responses saying that the lag has increased. :P

Personally I haven't seen any noticable increase in lag.  It seems to be the same as usual. The server lag slowly builds and slowly builds and then there's a reset, and repeat.

I've seen an slight increase but nothing that's really mentionable.. once in an while i get the feeling that my char ain't the right place and suddenly get snapped back in place.
but nothing that ain't liveable.

Had a fairly large group last night adventuring and I didn't have any lag.

Prior to this twenty four hour period, there was extreme lag during the weekend at one point.
