ACP Combat Animations?

I saw this on a couple of servers. They have different animation sequences using ACP.

I don't know about lag issues or other problems, but from what I saw it looks quite interesting. Maybe something to look at.

How does it work? Each equiped weapon has a different automatic animation? If I have the hak/override installed, will I see your animation?

Go to the link, but i saw it on one particular server. You had to select it using the craft menu. That server did have a lot of haks. This may require some I don't know.

There are more particularly with unarmed attacks. They are buggy with mounts but since there isnt any mounts then we dont have to worry about that.
When I saw them I thought that they were pretty cool. Since I'm not a developer, I dont know a lot. I just want to throw it out there as a suggestion.

Problem is they conflict with robes and phenotypes used by the CEP :/

Yeah, plus there might be a collision/some sort of the bug with CEP special emotes.

That is a bummer. The animations are real cool. Do you think anyone has made animations that work with CEP?

Nothing that I know of, Eberron.

Also, just a sidenote but also relevant: there are some textures for adding a wider range of phenotypes for PCs (skinny, fatbuilt, tall, short, bulky, etc.) - these do not work with the CEP emotes, as well. So absolutely no chance of implementing those, either.

The CEP does not have emotes. The custom emotes were added in addition to the CEP, but they aren't the thing keeping the ACP from working. It's the fact that ACP hasn't been updated since the NWN 1.67 patch that causes issues. For those who don't remember the cloak models were added in the 1.68 patch, and 1.69 added custom phenotypes for horses. Since the guy who made the ACP is no longer active in the NWN community, it is unlikely we'll ever see a version that's compatible with the current version of the game unless someone wants to do all the extra work.

(I am aware that the PRC has a compatible version of the ACP, but there's no way we'd be able to integrate that and get it to work with our existing haks and scripted systems)

This seems to be the updated one, however it looks like the loin cloth, horse, and some coat are not supported.

It says HOTU-1.69.. So it's the current NWN patch.

Where I seen it before was under the anvil for crafting. It had normal and others fighting styles to select from.
Is it possible to put the options there with a disclaimer about some of the compatibility issues. A PC can engage a fighting style to see how it looks but turn it off if it doesn't look right.

This maybe an interesting experiment.

Well we can look into it, but it wouldn't be added any time very soon. It will have to wait until the next hak update at the earliest if we did decide to add it. It would be quite a bit of work, however, as it would require .2da merging.

If you look at the bottom of this page you can see ACP. These files are extracted to the players override folder. That partly how they use it. Maybe this maybe a partial solution.

You can already use all of those Alternate Animations.  Just install the one you want like you would any other override and you'll see its effects in game.  But it does look -terrible- with Robes.
