What are the Devs' priorities, new features etc
« on: November 15, 2011, 08:03:30 AM »
Curious if we can have a small glimpse into the cookpot of the devs, what they are working on, or what's on their list especially the top few ideas/features/dev projects?

Possible please?  :)

I would suggest reading between the lines of some posts from DMs and Devs.

:soth:

The absence of material for players of 15th to 18th HD is being addressed.

Many new and fascinating ways to perish in the Mists will emerge!

Here is a list of new things that are being worked upon:

"Free" dark powers (on request!).
A portal to Waterdeep.
Were-Smurfs.
Elketh Zyr'istlyn the Ascendant.
Battlemechs.

I wouldn't mind other exotic domains, such as scourgne or the japanese domain that has a long name, but I think Blue said that isn't really possible in NWN.  Besides a domain that has lost temples and ruins throughout a jungle, has dungeons. And as the dm say. nothing attracts people to a place like some good dungeons.

I already found it a bit immersion breaking to be able to jump back and forth from Har'akir to Dementileu, then to Barovia. Is like Barovia has an airport providing insta-travel. But it's just me. I'd love to see the current domains further ammended with new maps. Travel and adventure for me when you are -on- the road for days to reach a goal, when you have a feeling that the surrounding lands are huge not only just a few maps.

I'd like to see another domain added in the caravan selection. Just to add a little more variety.

I would love to have random caravan ambushes and what not. I know the vistani can travel the mist, but surely there are some mist beasts out there who can lurk and fall on one of the caravan trades?

Some of us are working on expanding Barovia toward the West:

Amongst the key features:

-Berez (smaller than the Village of Barovia...)
-Zeidenburg
-Expanding toward Krezk (..and one day, Krezk itself)

I figure it is worth mentioning - Elketh's tower is being revised and expanded. Many more monsters and more loot.

Note: The dungeon (its monsters and loot) are intended for 9-12th level parties.

If your party is above this EL by a significant margin, the XP may be mediocre.

The new Anubis temple is cool but it sucks its traps are fort based... :(

Revised Again?

It is just being balanced so the difficulty curve is more steady. A new area is being added for "apex" parties.

About three sub-bosses (in addition to those present) are being incorporated. "Polishing" is probably the better word.

The revision to the Temple of Anubis isn't quite right, at least not currently.  The monstrous spawn setup is incorrect, and should be fixed next update.  At that point, the dungeon will be mostly setup as intended.

Once updated, there are a few oddball surprises in it, toward the end.  You'll figure them out on your way back out.

Oh.  There is also another dungeon I've been quietly designing for Har'Akir, that should be very high level.  It will have a lot of unique features and scripting, more than any other dungeon in Har'Akir.
