death domian's power

Hello,

I have noticed with my ghoul cleric's death domain, I do not get an undead, but I get a shadow mastiff. Should not death domain, give some type of undead creature? or is it supposed to give a shadow mastiff?

For some odd reason, the Death domain's summon ability calls up a Mastiff at a certain level-range (8-10). At any other level, you get a normal Shadow, Shadow Fiend, or Shadow Lord. The mastiff is kinna an odd addition, but a lot of things in NWN don't make a whole lot of sense, so.... Yea. Yay Bioware!

Death Domain isn't even supposed to give you that power. It's supposed to give you a death touch, once per day. lol. I don't know what NWN was on when they did that.

The death domain avatar is the same level progression as the summon shadow spell. So you gain:

Lvl 1-7     Shadow
Lvl 8-10   Shadow Fiend
Lvl 11-14 Shadow Mastiff
Lvl 15+   Shadow Lord

No, it's a magical beast an outsider. Not everything from the shadow plane is undead.
