Monster alignment.
« on: July 31, 2011, 10:17:43 AM »
I noticed that some monsters have inapropriate alignment for their nature in my opinion. I am not sure was it made on purpose or an oversight.

Barovian bandits apparently not evil. But I dont think they should be even neutral. After all they attack everyone on sight with screams like:" I ll slit your throat!". Also I think that at least some calibans in Port Lucine arent evil aswell.

Also deep forest wolves seem to be evil while worgs arent. Shouldnt it be another way around? I thought that worgs are intelligent creatures and are actually evil they let goblins to ride on them for example.

I am also quite sure that in werewolf pirate cave, the Boss ( I think his name is Jadar) isnt evil aswell, at least I couldnt harm him with Angel arm (which has bonuses only against evil creatures).

Worgs are written as "usually neutral evil" in the monster manuall. I wouldnt have thought bandits should be nuetral, maybe nuetral evil though?

Point is they do not have evil at all in their alignment because weapons against evil things do not affect them.

Weird, I'm fixing the worgs and Jadar.

As for bandits, some are chaotic neutral, which is fine.

I thought that was evident in your first post, why did you point that out twice?

A bit of necromancy, but I think its a appropriate place to post.

Giant skeletons in Alhoon and VoB underground mausoleum are set to non-evil. I am not sure if it is intended that way or an oversight.

Intentional. Prior to 3.5 ed. all non-intelligent undead (skeletons, zombies) were TN.

Page 89 of the 3rd edition player's handbook:

"The criminal who robs and murders to get what she wants is neutral evil."

I just thought it a little humorous that this would be the exact example the PHB gives as to what constitutes neutral evil behavior. :)

However skeletons and zombies are set to evil throughout the server I think.

Sorry that was rude of me, I have no idea why I posted that.
