The little book of verse:
Let it be known to all that Les Chats Noir, in association with monsieur Henri de Montagne, are proud to announce a delightful little competition where everyone can be a winner. We wish to be immersed in verse. So inundante us with your offerings. The first prize shall be the sum of twelve hundred solars and a year's free scholarship to the university of Port a Lucine. Three runners up will each recieve four hundred solars. In addition to this, any entries deemed worthy shall be collected and entered into print. The winner of the first prize will also recieve a free copy of this little volume. Entries may be delivered by hand or by post to miss Nemien Callishan at the Governor's Hotel. The closing date for entries shall be in approximately five weeks from now with the granting of prizes to be held that coming weekend (saturday 1st October, time TBD).
So come
Woo us with your words.
Seduce us with your scansion.
Regale us with your rhymes.
But please no limmericks or doggerell.
Applicants are limmited to one entry, if they wish to withdraw an entry in favour of a new composition then that is permitted.
There will be no restrictions on the length of entries but please bear in mind that they are to be published together so try to avoid epics.
Whilst there are no strict criteria for styles of poetry there will be a slight preference for iambic pentameter and other traditional forms over blank verse.
Members of the Chats are permitted to enter in the interest of quality, but not to win.
Submissions may be submitted in game or via PM's on the forums.
