The Velvet Curtain Auction!
« on: May 28, 2011, 08:12:47 PM »
((Date is slated for Saturday, the 4th of June, at 5:00 PM EST/GMT -5, at the Theatre de la Cathedrale, in Dementlieu's Quartier Publique.))

The list of items available are as follows:

Rali's First

From the land of Barovia comes this one-of-a-kind hand-and-a-half sword, the first such blade crafted by the legendary smith Rali Sten of Dvergeheim, a dwarven fiefdom within Barovia. Rumor has it that only the truly pure of heart can use this blade, which was forged in the cleansing holy fires of Belenus.

((AB +1, Damage Bonus Versus Evil: 1d4 divine, Vulnerability to Fire: 25%, Blue Light (5 m), Usable Only By Good Alignment.))

Saffron Robes

Imported from the island-kingdom of Rokushima Taiyoo, these finely-crafted robes belonged to a Shaolin monk who, legend has it, swore not to get involved in the civil war the entire nation had become embroiled in and met his doom at the hands of one of the daimyo's soldiers. Blood did not get on the robes themselves, which had become blessed by whatever kami the monk was attuned to. Should the kami choose those who wear the robes, they might receive their blessing as well...

((+1 AC, +1 Universal Saving Throws, Usable Only By Monks.))

Stone Claymore

An ancient greatsword believed to have belonged to the once-powerful Forfarian family, the ApFittles, before the tyrant Marc ApBlanc slew the entire family, including women and children, to their last, and brought about the Year of Woe, transforming the majority of the Forfarian people into goblyns.

((+1 Enhancement Bonus, Piercing Damage Bonus 1d4, Massive Criticals 1d4, Usable Only By Humans.))

Staff of Fury

A powerful sorcerer-king from the far-away realm of Nibenay is said to have carried this staff with him through the Mists and into the land of Har'Akir. Seeing the place as merely a land similar to his own, soon to be conquered, he entered the demesne of the pharoah, hoping to defeat him and rule the sandy kingdom himself. He lost, his very name lost to posterity, and his staff taken and given to one of the pharoah's favored subjects, one who has since passed on.

((Bonus feat: Empower Spell, Armor Bonus +1.))

Gobalski's Bracers

From the icy land of Vorostokov comes a set of bracers made from thick wool, used by a fearsome fist-fighter to gain an edge in armed combat. Useful in repelling blows bymaces, clubs, and other blunt objects, if used properly.

((Bludgeoning Resistance/5.))

Buril-Kai's Short Bow

A shortbow belonging to Buril-Kai, a general in service to the Khan of the Nuereni, this weapon was found in the sands of Har'Akir, which raises interesting questions at how far the Nuereni Horde went before finally meeting their end.

((Bonus Damage: Slashing 1d6, Mighty +4, Decreased AC -2, Decreased Reflex Saving Throws -3.))

Aeolian Tempest

A finely-wrought scimitar blessed by Aeolus, the god of the winds in the so-called "Olympian" pantheon, this weapon was found in Perfidus and is believed to have acquired some magical properties unique to that dangerous and volatile realm.

((+1 AB, Fire Damage 1d4, Sonic Damage 1d4, Orange Light (5 m), -4 Concentration, -4 Spot, -4 Hide, -4 Move Silently.))

Crossbow of Murder

This aptly named crossbow belonged to a Ba'al Verzi assassin of some renown, known to have incredible aim with ranged weaponry. In melee combat, he was considerably less competent, and this would lead to his demise and the loss of his prized crossbow.

((+2 AB, Massive Criticals 1d6.))

Hector's Finger Bangle

The famed smith known only as Hector is most well-known for the swords he manufactured, but often overlooked are the other items in his vast 'collection' of manufactured goods. A ring said to imbue its wearer with remarkable sight, this piece of jewelry is quite rare.

((+4 Spot, +4 Search.))

Rosary Beads of the Dawn

A rosary said to be blessed by the Barovian deity known only as "the Morninglord", this item is perfect for those who are of their faithful, those who seek to study religion, or merely those who appreciate a simple kind of art.

((+1 AC, +2 AC Versus Evil, improved Saving Throw Versus Death +1, 20 uses of Bless.))

Items Donated by the Church of Ezra

A pair of "Magister Rings". ((+2 Spellcraft.))
A pair of long scarlet gloves, said to help one focus. ((+6 Concentration.))
An ankh blessed by the "Giver of Life" in the Akiri Pantheon, Ptah. ((Appraise +1, Lore +5, Spellcraft +1, UMD +1, Freedom of Movement [Single Use].))
A large shield of the utmost quality, manufactured by the Akiri peoples. ((+1 AC, Material: Wood/Bronze.))
A steel katana, crafted by a master smith in the lands of Rokushima Taiyoo. ((80% of Weight, 1d6 Slashing Damage.))
The blade known only as the "Angel Arm", one many blades known for its ability to purge wickedness. ((Attack Bonus Versus Evil +2, Orange Light (5 m), Massive Criticals 1d6))

MESDAMES ET MESSEURS:

Prepare yourselves for the Second Velvet Curtain Auction, to be held in the Theatre de la Cathedrale, on Saturday, August 27th, at 3:00 PM ((EST/GMT -5))! All manner of interesting trinkets and curios are to be sold, acquired and graciously provided by the Red Vardo Traders! Let it be known that if you need something unique or need help in finding missing items or people, the Red Vardo Traders are there for YOU!

Given below is a full list of items to be auctioned off - if you see something you like, start saving so that you can be the one with the winning bid!

The list of items available is as follows:

Ihachelang, the Mace-That-Sings

A small, light, one-handed mace constructed in Sithicus from a rare golden metal of the stars by an mystic of the elven people, a mystic who found his creation hard to part with, claiming that metal of the weapon itself 'sung to him'. He was executed for his defiance of the elders, though those who have come across the weapons have noticed the weapon does, indeed, 'sing'.

((Concentration -1, Listen -1, Sonic Damage 1d4, Vampiric Regeneration +1))

Mjollnirson, Hammer of the Ęsir

This hammer has been fantastically claimed to have been created from the metal left over from the making of the Asgardian god Thor's legendary hammer. Mjollnir, and rightly so. While certainly not as potent as the god's own hammer, it bears some of the thunderous god's divine essence.

((Enchantment Bonus +1, Electrical Damage 1d4))

One-of-Many, the Weapon of Whyte

A morningstar crafted in the style of those used by a legendary fighting company known as Whyte's Legion, known for being so disciplined that they were practically indistinguishable from one another in combat.

((Enchantment Bonus +1, Electrical Damage 1, Discipline +1))

"Shiny Chain Boots"

This set of sturdy boots made of chain are known by no other name, but are nonetheless coveted by adventurers for their rarity and others for their value as collectors' items.

((Dodge AC +2, -2 Tumble, -5 Move Silently))

Armor of the Crown, Bulwark of Paladine

Knights of the Crown hail from an outlander realm known as Solamnia where they are the lesser of three orders sworn to the dragon god, Paladine.  This is a faithful replica of the armor worn by one of their greatest knights, Huma Dragonbane, one worn while he slew the evil dragon goddess and rival to Paladine, Takhisis.

((Armor AC +1, Slashing Resistance -/5, Good Only))

Draneth's Hook Kama

This weapon is such a rarity that its full history and story cannot be rightly and properly relayed on a mere parchment and advertisement. Come to the auction to learn the history of this legendary weapon and its equally legendary properties!

((Attack Bonus +1, Damage vs. Evil 2 Piercing, Damage vs. Undead 2 Bludgeoning, Orange Dim Light))

The Kama of Sini, the Teacher

A kama belonging to a wandering ascetic originally from Rokushima Taiyoo known as Sini, famous for his treatise "The Evolution of Brilliance".

((Attack Bonus +1, Electrical Damage 1d4))

Vampiric Banded Mail

This weapon is claimed to have belonged to a terrifying creature of the night, a vampire, who imbued his own armor, perhaps unknowingly, to confer upon the wielder some of the properties these legendary horrors of folklore might have.

((Armor AC +1, Constitution -2, Damage Reduction +2/soak 5, Divine Damage Vulnerably 50%))

Gram

This exceptionally made platinum long sword is said by some Dwarves to have been made by the Aesir.

((+1 Attack Bonus, +2 Attack Bonus vs. Dragons, Massive Criticals 5 Damage))

Armor of Comfort

This armor is made from a series of interlocking plates which makes it somewhat lighter and more comfortable to wear. It also smells faintly of lavender.

((Armor AC +2, Heal +2, 20% Weight Reduction))
