Has anyone tailored a NWNCQ that doesn't have ferns and trees that don't exist?

The random trees all over the Outskirts is a real deal-breaker for me. -_-

I did. Basic doesn't have them.

Also that override should be added to the haks as default because they're beautiful.

The more options the better. It would also be good to separate the most commonly
Used overrides from the riskier ones.

I frankly hate the NWNCQ and I feel it ruins the way our areas look by adding all sorts of nonsense to it.

I don't use full NWNCQ.

I use a basic because it doesn't add stupid nonexistant bullpizzle to an area. It just changes the textures. Which in some cases make performance better.

Now the shield override? That should get packed into the haks or something because it makes the default NWN tower shields look swank.

This is probably the best override for spell casters. The Baldures Gate 1 & 2 spell casting wavs. Much better than the lame defaults. Unzip and copy these into your override folder. Note not all spell school have their own corresponding file, the schools that are missing share the others.

BG 2

My personal favorite mix of the two

So this replaces the jibberish language your character prenounces when using spells with higher quality jibberish or?

Higher quality sentimental jibberish.

I just tried that out, its not bad, but it does have a noticeable "noise". Like whoever made it spent no time editing it to clean it up to align more with NWNs ambiance.

The BG1 sounds are not as good, and yes there is some noise when it comes to those. Ive never been a connoisseur when it comes to sound so a bit of crackle or static goes over my head. BG2 has better sound quality but there is some repetitiveness if you only use those. It's better to mix and match the ones you like, but there is no use just being lazy and copying them all into the folder because they will get overwritten.

  Raven texture override

Simply copy these .TGA files to the override folder under your Neverwinter Nights game directory.
Ravens are now much more realistically coloured and will no longer appear as purple eagles.

Now also includes an update for wereravens, who will no longer resemble giant blackbirds.

I'm actually in the process of changing all of the ravens in-game to use Izk the Mad's new raven models from the Community Content Challenge: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=199387&id=8095

So the override isn't needed ;)

Ah well, it may still be useful to people who also play on different servers besides this one.
And it did teach me how to make textures for Neverwinter Nights models, time well spend.

I've also noticed that familiars still use the old raven model, so it does have some use still.
And I have now also included an update for the wereraven in the same way as I did the raven.

I took the liberty of combining several improved model overrides and compiling them into a single download, but more importantly I only added the improvements that should not cause any visual conflict with the original aesthetic of the game. If you want to slightly improve the default models, without straying too far from the vanilla look of the game and without perceiving things drastically different than those that do not have the same overrides installed, then this override may be for you.

Improved_models override.rar
(Click the link to download, extract the downloaded files to the override folder in your game directory)

Includes the following:

  • Improved tesselated heads (male and female)
  • Improved hand models (male and female)
  • Improved feet models (male and female)
  • Improved neck models (male and female)
  • Improved chest model (male only)
  • Improved pelvis model (male only)

  • Improves about 9 existing vanilla heads, does not add any new content
  • Includes the hand update for the broader body type as well (male only)
  • Other (body)parts from the overrides were intentionally left out for better consistency with the vanilla and CEP content

All credit goes to the original authors of the mods. Unfortunately due to the disappearance of IGN's NWVault I can no longer provide the links back to the original mods.

With NWVault going kaput, I am unable to obtain overrides.  Any recommendations?
