Whats up with dire rats having + 6 AB, ripping that 24 AC ECL lvl 6 char to shreds going to the drain? Dire I know... but still. Thats a lvl 8 rogue with decent str AB.

Get 2 more AC?

...best is to somehow get a 5 damage soak though. All you need is a ghost rod for ghostly visage. =)

I think the rats are as they should be, since small creatures should have high ab....cause everything is bigger to them.

Yeah, everything is bigger and harder to put down. I don't see five farmers put down a giant using their teeth

Its one of the basics of the rules of the game. +1 to AB and AC for every size category difference bigger between your and enemy.

You are an elf so medium
They are dire rat so small

This is also the source of people's frustrations when trying to kill grave scarabs, except even more so since they are tiny, the category smaller than small.
I survived the Blue Water Inn Massacre and all I got was this t-shirt.

Actually, I think DnD rules are a bit different with regards to sizes other than between Tiny and Giant.

But I don't think NWN has any Gargantuan or Collossal creatures, so yeah, pretty much. :P

Anyway, my main frustration after my near-deadly encounter with Grave Scarabs was that though I just wanted to hot-foot it out of there before I got eaten, they were ruddy impossible to get past, despite being about the size of a fist. Shouldn't I be able to just barge over them?
