graphics problems

suddenly seem to have some sort of graphics issue

strange artefacts started to appear on the swirl around the NWN menu, then if proceeding the PC locks and needs to be rebooted

im running vista ultimate 64 bit with a radeon 4580 (dell system) and have since o bought this machine in sprin 2009 not had any issues playing NWN

tried catalyst drivers 10.10 and 10.11  latest seemed to solve the problem but few days later it reappeared.

no other programs seems to be affected and no virus or malware seems to be causing it

anyone expeienced anything similar ?

p.s.  the graphics card is not running warm

Internal error or you got a sneaky virus or worm

hmm, you might have a virus or malware, but not sure. I suspect you might have to re-install the game, that might clear up the issue.

virus and malwarechecks all come clean
installed the catalyst 10.11 again and problem dissapeared, dunno if it returns.

seems more like a vista/driver issue

problem keeps reappearing, seems to be driver related
tried to revert to basic Dell drivers hope that works *sigh*
(yes i did reboot and use driversweeper)

well that driver slows nwn down to a crawl, retrying 10.11 i guess

got a diagnostic run by a dell tecnician on the phone seems it is a graphic memory problem, they send me a new card to arrive tomorrow (bought the machine 1½ year back) yehaa
