Logging in Problems: Can't log in

I don't see the server on the main roleplay list....but I occasionally see it on my favorites.  When I try to connect, the server times out like it's crashed.  Anyone know what's going on?

Update: Gamespy is having trouble loading the server and when I can get in, it seems to freeze at the character creation screen.  A blank login screen without any of my characters or showing anyone online displays.  Is the server lagging majoring?  Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

When I can log in, it doesn't load any of my pcs info and won't let me IG.  Any help would be appreciated.  This has never happened before this afternoon.  Looks like the server does when it's crashed or about to crash.

Update 2: Got in but experience extreme server lag that makes playing virtually impossible.

Do you share your internet connection with any ?
Do you have background services that interfere ?

how do a internet speed test function ? what speed does it report and do that match your providers information ?

We reached at some point 50 players on last night. At any rate it was not impossible playing, the lag was not really a lot.

No to the first two.  How do I test the speed?  it's always been really fast before yesterday.  The internet seems fast other than with POTM

it could be any number of things: a problem with your ISP, a problem with the University's ISP, or a problem with any of the many servers "in between" your ISP and the University.

Only seem to have problems with this server and when a higher number of people are on and so far only during lowbie week.
