Lazy mode or proper mode?
« on: September 03, 2010, 07:57:54 PM »
Going to reformate my old heap of junk computer.

I have a portable harddrive! I usually just take nwn, install it and then toss over the everything from the harddrive to take its place. But should I perhaps do it manually instead this time? What is recommended?

Usually I just backup my /Music, /Override, /Portraits, /Localvault, /HAK and /ERF folders. Once reinstalled, I just replace the originals with the backups.

Also, you might want to retain that settings .ini file as well.

You can drag a NWN install to a separate hard drive and it'll still run. You'll just need to create a shortcut for it (and make sure to use the NWMain.exe and not the NWLoader.exe).

Okay! Thanks for the information folks :)

But is it stable enough to be used on an external harddrive?

Yes, it is. I copied my home installation to a portable HD and I can play at my working place without a problem.

I took the map and just tossed it inside my HD.

Do I just enter the HD and click on the icon Nemien spoke of?
