Vallaki Garda Uniforms

People in that era of civilization/culture  mostly looked like shite. Its not only Barovian Garda. 

they also married their cousins, but i dont see people doing that?

I think the uniforms are fine.

They're peasants, they wouldn't dye their uniforms - that costs money.

garda in the time would have worn hand'me'downs from the villages garrisson, with maybe a coloured tunic underneath - if that.

you think the hundreds of british longbowmen at the battle of agincourt had shit coloured matching uniforms? noooo.....

most would wear wool trousers and tunic, maybe  leather jerkin over the top, a belt, would carry a falshion and knife, a buckler maybe a shallow helmet if they scounged one in a former battle and didnt sell it. would cary, bread cheese and fish.


the point im making is that the armours dont look rustic at all, pristine tan leather with bleach silver metal?  rele cannon...

Who says that's dyed armors? Usually, cured leather worked into leather wares is brown, and that brown shown here seems like a more fitting version of what the leather would actually look like. You don't see puke brown leather on the guys in the medieval shows, at least I don't remember seeing it.

can the devs at least review the padded, leather and studded leather armours, you wouldnt need to change any of the npcs that way.

heck ill even supply a picture of each that i think would fit in with the rest of the uniforms. what a deal aye?

ok, had a play, what you think?



no.1 can work for padded or leather,
no.2 can work for studded leather
and no.3 is a studded version without the tunic style top.

made the boots look a bit more rough and ready and added some grayish black in places.

and i gave no.3 a hood as there is no way to make them look good in them garda helmets when you have no other metal on you.

i also did not add shoulder pads , as they all looked rubbish. unless you add the metal spikey ones that the splint mail uniforms have.

i toned down the shade of the metal a bit too, to make it look a bit less shiny and worn in.

i gave them no neck colar either, as scouts would be doing a lot of running about , wouldnt want to get too hot.

i prefer the current garda uniform over any one of the suggested ones in this thread.
As it is, the uniforms are easily recognizable and i have NO objections concerning the color.
If you think it's s**t-colored - then change your diet. 
Grey, black or dark brown are just the colors that will blend with most of the other player characters.

I for one like 'em. It's only the cloaks that are orangey-brown, anyway. And some trim on the armour.

They're a very obvious appearance and though nice, the ones you put forward as the old ones just look like generic steel armour worn by anyone.

Natural leather IS that colour. So is dirt. And wood. And the entire world of Gears of War. It makes the uniforms look appropriately cheap and simple.

I like the gloom uniforms, fit a depressive nation like Barovia. Colours and shit is for those fops back up there, west....darn Dementliuese!

I love the armors & all of the designs, I pushed for them to get back from how they were in the early days, and would like to keep it that way. Same goes for the RVT Old armors that we 'modernized', looking too fancy for my tastes at the moment. No matter, my NPC's from Krezk wear the old RVT leathers, grittier, meaner & more medieval.

As for the Vallaki guard armors, they are distinctive; compared to how they looked after Talek changed them (Black & grey) or with any remake attempt that has been suggested, which always ends up looking like some outlander noob plate.
