Formatting Windows XP
« on: June 05, 2010, 04:44:31 PM »
I am asked to help people with this quite often, but I no longer have XP and explaining it to people over the phone is becoming..tiresome. Could someone here post the three to four steps you use to format with a windows XP disc? Such as

1. the file on the disk itself that can launch the EXE
2. the key you use to bring up formatting options while the pc loads

if anyone could do this I'd appreciate it.

I ussually format the hard drive from within windows (right click the drive)
F12 is the key needed to boot from CD , after you have reformated , it should auto install from there

Heres a site that details the basics...http://www.ehow.com/how_6026_format-hard-drive.html
