Scroll spell failure

Something that's happened twice IG to me now is arcane spell failure on using scrolls. Has this been changed so that the spell failure percentage from armour affects scroll casting too?

you sure that you were not exhausted?
I survived the Blue Water Inn Massacre and all I got was this t-shirt.

Pretty positive, stood still and no exhaustion both times.

Fairly certain there is spell failure percentage applied for reading arcane scrolls when wearing armor.  I have a pc who is a wizard who never fails reading arcane scrolls unless she is wearing armor other than robes.

I could just run into the room and punch you in the balls; sure, that's scary. That's entertainment. But it isn't horror...

Yeah, as far as I know that is no bug, but can happen. If you use scrolls - spell failure chance will apply.

not sure about the scrolls that are both divine and arcane, think those also count as arcane

I'm pretty sure those scrolls that can be used by any class, the raise deads, poison/disease removal etc etc aren't affected by spell failure but I never actually knew it still applied to arcane scrolls.

It's working as intended. Arcane scrolls are supposed to give arcane spell failure, as per PnP rules.

It can be kind of strange though. I found out the hard way that Darkness scrolls are subject to arcane spell failure due to armor even though the actually spell darkness only has a verbal component.

Yeah, it's not perfect. Stuff like that can probably be fixed though if it gets reported.

the verbal only problem applies to the majority of spells. At least all the ones I ever bothered trying. Which is probably intentional to avoid true strike shenanigans.
Has been described as a sometimey player

If you took the still spell feat and went to cast a spell using a scroll would that spell be cast using the still spell feat or not?

no, scrolls use the basic version of a spell at a given level based on the scroll.
