Missing "ravenloft.tlk" file
« on: January 23, 2010, 08:50:46 PM »
I got a new computer and am trying to get POTM working on it.  I downloaded and installed all the parts.  Any idea how to fix this?

Don't know what could have caused that. Try downloading everything again then re-installing. And make sure that no anti-virus or anti-spyware software somehow judges that file as a virus, therefore removing it or blocking it's install. If nothing works, I can send you the file, it has around 7.5mb.

Did you make sure that all the files were placed in the right folders and were named correctly. Double check to see if there is the missing file in your folder if not then just download it again and place it there.

I'll check that, the full message is "missing custom talk table, ravenloft.tlk" and won't load the module.  I"m using the autoinstaller for the hak pack.

Is there any kind of confirmation message when the ravenloft hak and the cep pack complete install?

The autoinstaller dumps the tlk in the hak folder. find ravenloft.tlk in your hak folder, and move it to the tlk folder. Job's a good'un

So I checked the hak folder and nothing is there lol.  I ran both the cep and the ravenloft hak and re-ran them but nothing is appearing there.  I'm running windows 7.  Is there any kind of confirmation or any way to know that those packs are actually installing?

This is very weird.

From what i can tell, the CEP which took 5 hours to download isnt' installling? How long should the install take and is there any confirmation?

Got it fixed, just had to re-download everything and install manually, autoinstallers weren't working.

Strange with the auto-installers. What Windows version are you using?

Atm I got Vista and about to upgrade to Win7 soon as the Dell Geek gets here and fixes the engine.

I'm sure somehow vista might be playing a part in this.

Using Windows 7.  It seems a little glitchy.  I have bag lag almost always.  So don't know if it's something to do with the operating system or if the server is just slower now.

I have reinstalled, reupdated and what not. Can anything give me the custon talk-table 'ravenloft.tlk' personally since I cant seem to get it through the links? It would make a world of difference.

~Thank you, Aden

You should download the manual installer from here: http://www.control.aau.dk/~agm/nwn/RavenloftPOTM1_68HakFull.7z

In that package, you'll find the .tlk file that needs to be moved to the 'tlk' folder of NWN.

I imagine that it's Windows Vista/7 related, I'll put up a notice on that page.

No worries. You can always locate your NWN folder by searching for the nwmain.exe file. From there, if there's no folder labelled "tlk", simply make one and put the ravenloft.tlk file in there.
