I would personally love to see some undead shambling around in the streets at night. I think it would add a creep factor to the village! *sage nod*

monster dont often prowl openly in the streets of Barovia.... not saying they arent there, but they know something bads just up the hill

Not normally, no. It occurs in the original PnP module, but that's due to the plot, not because it's an everyday occurance.

Oh, I have a question. Is there an alchmist lab in the village? I think the mad mage's home should serve as a good area for an alchmist lab as there is everything there IMO.

First saw the new Barovia last night.  Very nice, Blue. 

The lamps are a really nice touch and the updates make Barovia more like a village than an afterthought.  I also liked that you can now find the Blood O' the Vine easier. 

All in all, very nice.   :thumbup:

Let alone that I love this area and that Blue has already had my direct feedback I would like to add a couple of things:

1) Is anywhere possible to rent, in the Village surrounding, an ox?
2) Is anyway possible that the delivery missions can also -start- from the Village, rather than having just it as a final goal? (directed to general areas of Vallaki, Midway, etc.)

More people in the village is welcomed. I love that place, the atmosphere is just great. It is only a shame that it is not used as much as it could be.  Perhaps some plots or something could be done here to attract attention and intreast to it?

I would like to point out that maybe it was right to remove the whole variety of dyes from Bildrath in the Village. Nevertheless, I was not able to find any variety of "green" which doesn't seem to me a colour too "un-Barovian"...

You know what's missing from the Village:  The reason for those screams. 

A vamp here, a wererat there would, IMO, greatly add to the atmosphere of danger lurking.  Nothing major like Vallaki.

 Just a little something that says:  "There's a reason why someone is screaming".

I love that there a few monsters in the village of barovia at night, sure maybe a few. But it is a village, now perhaps the undead from the crypt could rush out during night, that would be interesting. But I hate all the rats in vallaki, makes me feel like I am in richmulet and not barovia.

And besides, If I am not mistaken there is a reason for the screams in game. It is a sorrow filled village, but I love the place.

I have honestly always thought the main feature of uneasiness in the Village of Barovia is that of being literally dominated by the nearby Castle Ravenloft, feeling very controlled by the leader of the land, and the leader of the Village itself being, sorry for the word, a total bitch herself. Plus, I'm not sure of it, but the fact there is NOT a regular and ongoing or at least visible danger all the time can be due to the presence of the Keepers. I might be wrong. The real dangers about the Village of Barovia is when you step out its walls. This marks a big difference in our server with Vallaki. I feel it's better if this difference is kept.

Even before you posted, I already noticed the new bits of descriptive text that appears as you walk through the streets. I like them although they sometimes trigger repeatedly when walking through the center of the village, spamming me. I haven't yet noticed any other changes.

yes, and by the way. I love the descriptions. always have loved the attention to detail on describing what a building looks like as you pass.

its a very nice looking zone with the distillery even by day, but there are only sheep and plot locked doors there, I am sure its just some trick I havent figured out yet
