Barovia - Old Svalich Road - Old Inn
« on: November 06, 2009, 08:17:10 AM »
The once tattered, haunted building seems to have recently been given life.  A couple consisting of a large, barbaric looking man, and a petite blond dressed in pink and red have taken to inhabiting the run down building.  Large bonfires of broken furniture and old garbage have been burned in the front yard of the house, and a number of small repairs have been done to the old building.  Twine strings decorated with dried belladonna and cloves of garlic hang across each door and a holy symbol has been nailed into the each side of the door frame.  Soft light flickers in the windows and smoke flows from the chimney.  The small woman is seen walking around the exterior of the home nearly everyday, murmuring soft blessings and prayers.

The old stable shields numerous large, warm pelts from the rain, allowing them to dry during the day.  The couple spend much time around the old building, but can at times be seen traveling into town and returning with large parcels of goods.

The once abandoned building has thrived through the season of Summer.  As winter slowly falls upon the land the few windows in the house are strung with dried berries and thick pelts to insulate it from the cold.  A thick cloud of smoke is constantly seen rising from the chimney; a sign of obvious life and warmth within.  A large bonfire constantly burns outside of the home, directly between the stone well and the house itself.

An old man curiously stopped as he walked by the inn some days ago wondering curiously who it is that has restored the old abandon house! He murmurs to himself that he shall visit these new inhabitants some day or two

After being inhabited for a few months, the Old Inn is burned to the ground.  Numerous corpses of oversized wolves are left piled around the remains of the once lively house.

A old man was seen arriving at the place at late evening to later leave together with a woman and her child and two large men going up the road towards the village of Barovia.

Besides the signpost "I, Strahd, walk the land", a very small childish handwritten text appears and a weird symbol.

One night, smoke bellow from the dilapidated chimney of the Old Inn, along with faint glowing lights seeping through the cracks of the structure. At the break of dawn, two strange figures are seen leaving the Inn, one a halfling and the other an elf.
