Krofburg
« on: October 02, 2009, 01:22:15 AM »
Krofburg. First let me say, I LOVE it. I love the quaint feel and layout, it's the kind of place I want to be.

However I've noticed it's hardly ever frequented, and I'm not entirely surprised. I'd like to suggest the a bank is added, a gilding forge for the smithy and resources for crafters somewhere nearby. It has all the buildings for crafters, but there isn't so much as a deer to hunt, or tree to chop. There is a mine nearby but upon further inspection. It didn't have a single ore vein.

I'd love to see that great area come to life, but I think it needs something for PCs to do there. Or it will remain a ghost town.

Crafting places and enhancement of resources would be a definite help to motivate players to have their chararacters steadily there, so it's needed a double way effort in my opinion.

Plus a bank, It's gotta have a bank.

Ever since I saw it I've harbored a fantasy that Elton would transfer there when he got to tired of Vallaki. And live out his autumn years as a small town Garda..
Quiet, and quaint.

No bank also in Village of Barovia. So I don't think it'll be put there either.

Krofbug is way to small for a bank, I mean its the smallest settlement in Barovia as far as I know. The locals probably dont even have enough wealth to make use of a bank.  :D

Granted, but what of all the other idea's... Mainly crafting stations and so forth. Even a small village would have a blacksmith, Herbalist, leather worker etc, etc, etc .... ;)

If there is enough currency running through the drain for a bank surely there is enough for some entrepreneur in Krofburg to give it a go. What about the mining Co.?

The bank in the Drain is there simply because sewer dwellers usually can't go in town. And if you checked the rates of the bank in the Drain you'll agree with me it's a legalized robbery :)

By the way, apart the bank, I think all the requests for crafting posts and some resources more could be fit for Krofburg. Barovia has a rich flora and fauna and most of the crafts are made out of those. And mining, well, there is a cave (but remember Barovia should be an importer of most precious materials, being it rich just in salt, coal and iron if I'm not wrong. Since Village of Barovia has those posts and it's not really a big village (535 people vs the 1500 of Vallaki), maybe Krofburg might have too.

Seconded. If I had to play a Caliban character, a 20% deposit fee would be grounds to rob the bank purely on principle.

The bank has been robbed twice, I think.  It's a very good way to get a character hunted by the entire server and perma-killed.
