Using both modzilla firefox and internet explorer I'm having some issues with the general surfing. Sometimes pages are refreshed normally, sometimes they're not. And even when pages are loaded it can happen they miss all the graphics (images and animations inculuded). What could it be? Am I missing some plugin or what? Consider the computer has been formatted like yesterday and it has been all installed brand new, only things I downloaded have been Xfire and the CEP and the stuff to play NWN, not done anything else on it. Yesterday it didn't give this problem, now it does, as if I changed something which I didn't (at least knowingly).

Help? Pliz!

Sounds like you miss out on some sort of plugin or javascript or something.  :)

Just a minor heads up until someone more wizardy at computers drops by!

i have this problem too, always blamed it on a poor internet connection, and constantly hit the refresh button. if you find an answer, let me know.

It seems it happens when the connection, despite it seems it goes in a constant flow, has some sudden blackouts of one second or two, exactly when the page is loading, without you losing completely it.

There is no point in clicking the refresh button, instead it might even make the situation worse.(atleast it does for me).
I am using my sucky internet connection and windows 98 computer, still i manage to play well. Sometimes you people might have 3 secs delay, or how long the delays are nevermind that.
If you cant see something on the page when loading it, it might be because your firewall or some other thing in your settings is not allowing to show pop ups.
As Budly said, it also might be some javascript problem, so i would suggest to get the newest java and also check your internet settings if you have the highest protection rate on what might cause that some things might see missing on the sites, personally i prefer to have the internet protection settings on normal, since i play a lot of internet games. ( a lot less whining from your computer )

Well if we can successfully rule out both Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 8 [which are still buggy]

I did some research.  Here is what I came up with.
Usually its a pop up blocker blocking ads...

or a lack of Java, corrupted Java or a need of a Java update.

lack of or problem with shockwave player, flash player or the adobe add ins

There could also be a conflicting problem with the Add ins for IE 7 and up, sometimes disabling the add ins and re enabling/re installing them will help.  However you can likely rule out the add in prob since it is present in firefox too, unless you think you are freakishly unlucky and are having problems with your firefox add ins too.

Barring that... and here comes the doozy... a virus.

If all else fails try doing a system restore back to a point where it was working... not ideal but it may fix it.

Try using the Google Chrome browser. Might help a little bit.  :)
