A somewhat notorious and gossiped about red clad Rashemi graduate of the Academy was seen entering the Kyrillian estate, welcomed in by the Vraylok’s enforcers. Several hours into the night the same guest exited with a sinister-looking grin as he retired in the Crane with no answers as to what business the mage from Ramulai had with the Vraylok. He was witnessed departing in the morning toward the border.

A student of the Academy, identified as Atossa Iltazyara, was recently observed accompanying the Gudkaede Ossur Fezim to pray within the Nordenvall Fane alongside him. Shortly after, the Graduate Vasya Sarukina is seen entering the chapel.

A hastily constructed shrine to Ezra, Our Guardian in the Mist is tucked behind a tree out of site of people at the crossroads.

The following morning, a Gudkaede of Nordenval Fane comes across the small wooden shrine erected for the Lawgiver's concubine, a bag of cotton and mushroom slung over his shoulder.  But before anyone can take a torch to it, the Mulan examines the wood, as well studies the craftsmanship, before it is dismantled, with any salvageable wood delivered to the crafter's hall, while what remains is left in a pile of smoldering ash, as rain soon begins to fall.

Nordenvall Village and the estate of Vraylok Ossur Kryillian are in a bustle in preparation for the Celebration of the Reemergence. Mulan are seen entering Fortryllendeblaek og Kurbad to receive head shaves, tattoo touch-ups, massages, and time within the bath house, before dressing in their finest zarongs. Rashemi serfs are seen busy serving their whims and needs.

It is said that King Hazlik himself, in company of his most frightful protector, a Blooded One, joined Vraylok Ossur Kryillian at his estate outside Nordenvall Village, along with esteemed clergy of Nordenvall Fane and members of the Red Academy.  Blood had been spilt, in celebration and tribute, as gladiators fought for their freedom.  It was not without expressed dismay, that the victor of the battle royal was a Templar Knight of the Lawgiver's concubine, Ezra. But those in attendance were quickly reminded that it was by the will of the Lawgiver, that King Hazlik granted this Ezrite their freedom. The woman, on the brink of death from her injuries, was led to the border.

Tragedy has struck the well-known and respected House of Huuld, the very home of Biskop Taico Huuld of the Nordenvall Fane. Unexpectantly, his favored and youthful niece has died. The mulan physician claims she was poisoned! The biskop is beside himself in grief, his usual stoic demeanor evaporated into sorrow and disbelief!

When arriving from abroad, Gudkaede Fezim is seen entering the Dancing Crane, where it is believed he wished to speak with the manager towards providing catering for the Huud Family for the next eight days leading up to the burial.  He is seen about the village inquiring if anyone had noticed anything out of the unusual in the weeks leading up to the suspected murder by poison.

[Atop the announcement is a bold emblem of House Fezim: a manticore, carrying a spear in one hand, and an olive branch in the other.]
Quote

I, Cinar Fezim, satrap and rishad of House Fezim of Sly-var, am accepting offers of marriage to my distinguished son Ossur Fezim.  Houses of good repute must make your offers by the end of February, 779, and negotiate in good faith towards a marriage arrangement that will strengthen both our houses. Your rishad may contact me directly or parents with their rishad’s permission to negotiate, may do so.

As some of you may well know, at a young age, Ossur, my second born son, was charged with escorting his sister, Thola Fezim, to King Hazlik’s Illustrious Red Academy to begin her apprenticeship. But upon their journey, the mists of Myterri stole them to the heathen, savage lands of Barovia. In July of 770, Ossur discovered the renown missionary of the Western Mission of the Church, Koltur Naatharak, in great peril. Finding the lone missionary surrounded and assaulted by the unholy and impure, my son did as any devout and stalwart man ought: he lifted his shield in defense of Naatharak, who’s own faith and courage inspired my son into a life of selfless service to the One True God, the Lawgiver.  For the last nine years, as a Gudkaede of Nordenvall Fane, Ossur has served tirelessly both abroad as a missionary among the heathen and at home in Hazlan. Upon the Celebration of the Reemergence this past year, Ossur, performing in his role as Gudkeade, was given the high honor of providing security for King Hazlik himself, as our Lord visited with Vraylok Ossur Kryillian at his estate upon this most holy of days.

Furthermore, inspired by Vraylok Kryillian’s ancestor, the Blessed Fezima Kryllian, who delivered our ancestors into the Iron Fold, by fire and by spear, my son devoted himself to the mastery of the spear in tribute to our matron saint. Forged by his own hand of adamantine, and bound to him in spirit, by the Red Academy’s Instructor Layla Sepret, my son now wields the spear known as Myterri’s Bane.

With this holy spear, I pledge that my son, Ossur Fezim, will defend Hazlan, his House, his soon to be wife, and their beautiful offspring, until the Iron Paradise claims him.

With a bloodline that is pure, that can be traced back to the First People of Torvenden, before the Black Trials and the sins of the 36, House Fezim seeks to find a suitable partner and wife for my second son, Ossur Fezm, of child baring age, to join our esteemed House and proud family.

Long Live King Hazlik,
Long Live Hazlan,
Long Live Both Our Houses,
Cinar Fezim, Satrap and Rishad of House Fezim

Over the recent week, spanning a few days, there have been frequent sightings of a man running along the road and through the fields of Vraylok Kryillian.  In one hand, he grips a tower shield with the most unholy of symbols: Ezra, the concubine. Making no effort to conceal his heresy, and was in fact completely grabbed, head to toe, in the white and green garments.  At first, perhaps thinking it must be a deceit of the eyes, an illusion of Myterri before them, all the work in the fields and those atop the Kryillian platform that oversees the harvests, came to a quiet halt, everyone’s eyes following this unlikely sight, for not only was this an Ezrite, he carried a bag in his free hand, and he was running into the Vraylok’s fields, stealing cotton.  Shortly after, Gudkaede Fezim was seen confronting the man. The Ezrite, however, strangely, ignored the command to cease and desist, and continued to run from cotton shrub to cotton shrub, deeper into Hazlan’s heartland. Not long after, the infidel and thief was seen fleeing for his life, bleeding profusely, a trail of blood soaked cotton, spilling from his bag as he fled in fear. To even further incredulity, the same exact man, in the same garments and tower shield, was seen repeating the offense two days later, but upon discovering a waiting party near his retreat from Hazlan, he turned and fled deeper into the heartland.  It is said that Nordenvall Fane will soon me making a public proclamation or issuing a bounty.

The day leading up to a lunar eclipse, there was indeed a great deal of change in the air around Nordenvall Village.  Thola Fezim, the only daughter of Satrap Cinar Fezim of Sly-var, was at last, after eight long years of being presumed likely dead and her remains unaccounted for, returned to her loving father’s embrace.

At the same time, as the satrap of House Fezim was visiting Nordenvall Village to manage marriage negotiations for his son and heir, Ossur Fezim, as he had promised, he concluded negotiations at the end of February, after a long month of ups and downs for those involved. Azadeh Khorzavi, as representative for her family, presented her younger sister, the fair Seriyah, in the wake of Cinzar Fezim’s joy at having his daughter returned alive and well.

With the death of the old moon and the birth of a new moon, Satrap Fezim proclaimed it was time to look to the future, finalizing negotiations. He has welcomed Seriyah as his future daughter in law. A wedding and new day is upon the horizon.

Rumor has it that, at Nordenvall Village, Mulan nobles gather to revel in the festivities. Fine dishes from around the Core grace their tables, and Rashemi servants attend dutifully to their needs. Laughter, toasts, and lively chatter fill the air, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the night.

Dozens of Rashemi and Mulan alike bore witness to a foreigner leaving the grounds of the artisan hall in Nordenvall Village on hands and knees, shouting praise to the Lawgiver for the mercy of sparing his heathen life, crawling across the bridge, and then crawling along the road that cuts through the vraylok’s fields, on hands and knees the entire way to the border, from which he is now banished from crossing again. It is said that he confessed to the Gudkaede that he was a worshiper of a false god, and consequently he was judged to be unfit to walk among the devout citizens of Hazlan.

In the days leading up to the funeral and burial of Thoraxus of House Thuul, a Mulan warmage of the Red Academy, an unusual degree of construction and preparations are underway. It is rumored that no less than fifteen serfs were required to lift the behemoth of a man, who was a well known glutton, after his bloating corpse was discovered in the Tuskmorke Skoven.  Gudaede Fezim, after being tasked with constructing a coffin like no other by Kontor Khorzavi, was seen leaving Hazlan in search of wood, eventually returning with a great deal of oak planks, and was witnessed working tirelessly at the artisan hall.  Reinforcing the gigantic coffin with steel, he was observed engraving and carving, creating images of the Iron Paradise, the Lawgiver upon His throne, surrounded by His angels.  The metalwork was then gilded with gold, before being delivered to the Kunductors, the order of monks devoted to the preparations for the dead and watching over them.

Observers, including both passersby and serfs, might have witnessed Lord and Lady Perzatis partaking in an evening picnic beneath the majestic elms on the village green. Accompanied by their attendants, the newlywed couple savored a romantic dinner under the starlit sky, celebrating the wealth and prosperity of the mulan culture, while the servants of the satraps prepared for the demanding work of the forthcoming harvest.

In the village of Nordenvall, a quiet yet persistent rumor spreads. The Mulan families gather more often now, their conversations cloaked in careful words and subtle gestures, all under the unyielding gaze of the Iron Church. Each family seems eager to demonstrate their steadfast faith, their loyalty declared in actions and assurances alike.

One particular action draws extra attention. It is the growing practice of rewarding Rashemi serfs who have shown unwavering dedication. Some are given greater responsibilities, their roles reshaped and elevated within the community. Among their kin, this shift sparks a mix of emotions, admiration, resentment, and probably silent longing. Those who are overlooked can only watch as their peers are pulled from obscurity, their new status a source of both pride and unease.

For now, the reasons behind these generous gestures from the ruling class remain a subject of hushed speculation.
