Blaustein
« on: September 11, 2009, 12:07:25 PM »
Local patrons of Davy's locker murmur of some 'Freak' coming ashore, found floating lifelessly along the shore several peasants dragged him out of the sea, scavenging threw his pockets they found no gold so they dumped the body infront of the Law Giver Biskops tower. Later that night odd lights were seen flickering outside peoples home. Wet foot prints lead to the Castle of Bluebeard...

The ship long seen adrift off the shores of the Isle has finally docked with the coming of a man suited in Red.
Ten exotic looking women stepped ashore, following the man like dogs, peasants murmur among one another of their purpose...soon after their arrival a exoticlly fearsome woman set foot on the Isle, a shy looking woman at her side. They followed in the steps of the Red man and his women, making they're way to the Castle Of Blue Beard...

All can agree a moment of relief swept over the batterd community briefly a they set afoot a vessel and took their leave, as the skies darken the peasants turn in...seeking hope, luck or just simply escape in the bottom of a bottle..

A caring woman has been on the island, asking anyone she meets if they have any ills that have gone unattended. She does not seem disheartened when her inquiries are met mostly with apathy from the seafaring denizens of Bluebeard's island.

A strange outlander wearing a silly hat has taken up residence in Davey Jones locker. He always bothers locals about a woman named Amelie and some odd author as if books was something that interested anyone.

He appears to be trying to be overly patient, despite the fact the natives are almost hostile towards him

The local gossip on the island of Blaustein, even reaching as far as Port-A-Lucine, is that Bluebeard has chosen for himself a new wife! The Blausteiners seem to be overjoyed for their lord and there has been much celebration since the announcement. Not much is known of the lucky woman, except that she is an exotic beauty from a far away land.

It seems that a blonde haired woman has been seen drinking at Davy Jones' Locker and staying in a room up stairs. She is heard to be looking for a ship and a crew to sail the sea of sorrow.

A young woman with a red plumed hat has been seen rather a lot the past few days around the island. She has been spending most of the time in Davy Jones' Locker.

A young woman with long hair and a sharp tongue has been seen (and heard for that matter) in the kitchens of Davy Jones' Locker. When asked, some accept her return to the island as endearing, while others can't wait for the next trade tide to sweep her away. One truth's for sure, the kitchen's never smelled better.

A number of new seafarers are seen about Blaustein, often on their ship, La Femme Ecarlate (The Scarlet Woman).

[Word spreads around Davy Jones' Locker and some parts of the village of the sorceress Tarja, possible half-vistani, speaking ill of Blaustein and those who reside there. Whether the villagers will act out against this woman if she shows herself on the island is anyone's guess, but a crew of buccaneers have already made it clear that a 'welcoming committee' to meet such an arrival.]

After a long night of drinking and celebrating, one of the younger crew members of the La Femme Écarlate excuses herself from her captain and crew, only later to be found passed out the following morning beneath the big tree in the cemetary in a sound sleep

The dog fighting sees a number of outsiders to the community brought over in interest, with one of them exchanging his own clothing as payment for taking home the winning dog. Almost as exciting, word spreads of the grisly execution held at the height of the event, of the ultimate decision of Lord Bluebeard's justice.

Ernald "Gobbler" Gobbal, his crimes read loud and clear, for all to hear: the rape and murder of women, the rape and murder of men, the theft of two emeralds, six silver goblets, and a basket of fish, and for mutiny and insurrection. His remains lie in the fighting pit, half-eaten by the victorious dog, Henri Junior. Locals claim they always knew he was up to no good, and never really liked him anyway.

A man with a distinct darkonian accent, dressed in a long leather coat is seen entering Davy Jones' locker and making his way towards the bar to speak with Henri. After a few moments of hushed conversation, drinks bought, and coin slid across the bar he was directed to a whiskey soaked, grey-haired captain near the corner. After seemingly a cordial conversation the man was lead towards the hatch in the rear of the bar and was not seen for some time. When he reappeared his usual easy smile was gone and he exited the bar quickly, a somber and serious air about him. Patrons near the table the man shared with the captain overheard inquiries into seeking work aboard a ship commissioned out of Blaustein.

[A notice is prominently placed for all of the patrons of Davy Jones' Locker to observe.  The message penned in tremor-ridden, hastily scrawled script]

Quote
The seas be a cruel mistress!

I be looking for able-bodied deckhands to serve aboard The Tempestuous Lout. Best be sure of footing and having the guts to brave sailing for days at a time.

Previous seafaring experience be preferred.
Experience with handling steel be a must.

Leave a word with Henri the Bartender and tell him it be for Captain Favreau.

The recent dog fights stir the people to fond conversation in the coming days. A desperate fight between the two favourites, Lady Beard and Henri ended in much blood, and the thin victory of the latter. Characteristically, the night of excitement drew to a close with a grisly display of Lord Bluebeard's justice - a pilfering, perfidious subject of the Lord had her brains spilled to the rough carpet of the New Pit. A display matched only by the coda of a final fight, between a wolf as black as night and larger than most men, and the great Henri.

Henri remains, so far, undefeated, to the rich pockets of the islanders.

To the interest of the native people, a pair of foreign travellers are summoned, and escorted by guard, to a meeting within the Castle Bluebeard. They exited the castle, like all others do, by nightfall.

Idle rumours dance between the fishmongers and thugs; some tell that the man and woman were there to dedicate a great gift to the benevolent lord. Others yet say the pair were summoned to be punished for lechery and theft, and all sorts of outlandish crimes.

There is a small stir of gossip caused by the appearance of a dark fey with red eyes and a wide, feathery hat as she nearly drinks Davy's Locker dry and then passes out in a room upstairs. She appears to be resolved in staying despite being heavily unwelcome.

A woman is seen arriving on Blaustein seemingly already familiar with the land. She takes up a spot in Davy Jones locker and begins writing slowly and carefully on various letters.

Talk among the town and pirates abut Blaustien is of a Barovian oafish man lumbering through the island. It is spoken he is Envoy Alusand's Engineer and has been working on renovations upon the island and a project to assist commerical fishing. Many can see the once dark Island partially lit up by lamposts for the nightly guards and townsfolk, benches made for the locals to sit and converse, even their local graves have been tended too polished and well kep. More itnerestingly by the Fishing Cliff were two large seige like devices a sign alerting folk to not touch "Enjineer ats Vurk" of a makeshift scorpion firing heavy steel harpoons tied to line and hand crank wheel with steel gears. Some locals may feel some unease by the oafish Barovian til he is practicing in hunting large fish and aquatic prey with the device a small arbalast on a pivotal wheel on a makeshift deck mounted to the ground use similiarly as if the man was deciding which or if both were going to be effective as he loaded harpoons with nets.

Regaurdless the Barovian as big as he is often spotted at Davey Jones Locker drinking rum and going over plans some of them of reinforced fishing rods and heavy duty fishing line supposedly made of monstrous spider silk. The man seems to tirelessly work in effort bring exports of wood, steel, golds, silver, electrum, and rare occasions adamantine working upon them and sitting desiging a Shop/Forge on paper. When approached politely the oaf offered the folks a smile and spoke in a broken Trade tongue when those less savory attempted the rage and intimidation the man bore was clear to stay clear from him and to not disturb his peace. Some may recall him a year ago as a wounded man brought to Blaustien occasionally seeing him in the Davey Jones Locker and at the temple of the Iron Tyrant now occasionally visiting out of respect offering free repairs to the chapel for the priests care of the man. The man known as Nimir Rodovan, Jack Wilson, has made it clear to the locals this is his home now and where he lives he defends and protects offering aid in his craftsman work in tailoring, leathering, Smithing, knowledge of herbalism, the Core and Trades to the people. Most importantly the Bird Coop built by the small farm so that things like Chickens, Turkeys, and Ducks could be added to lord Bluebeards menu and the locals if not happily raising and tending the critters.

[A crass and salted Blausteiner woman by the name "van Rees" has been seen in the Davy Jones' Locker seeking inquiries about joining up with a good crew, either as a deckhand or outright getting her own ship commissioned.  Word is she has herself and a few good men under her belt and they're seeking to join up with more for some "proper reavin', shaggin', an' fightin' out on the Misty Deep."]
