For screen shots I use Irfan-view. Can't figure out how to crop the images so that the text is actually readable when you post them on the forums, after uploading them to Photobucket. Anybody know a solution?

paint.net is a free windows .net framework application that can manipulate .tga into .png for up load. and you can crop the canvas size and resize the image keeping the ratio.

When you upload the image to Photobucket, you can choose what size you want for the image.  It's right there in the upload section.

I do my cropping right in IrfanView.  Cropping is under "Edit->Crop selected", and image resizing is under "Image->resize/resample"
