Is there a setting that increases the distance at which objects appear?

Sorry, thought that was clear.  This is what I mean.  When you are walking, for example, out the west gate of Vallaki towards the outskirts temple and lady's resting place....at first, the area will look to be clear on your screen, but then as you walk closer, players start to appear and so do certain objects like any inventory on the ground.  This same thing is true for monster NPCs....if you enter an area, at first it will look clear from far away, but then as you get closer the monsters just pop into existence.

So that leads to my original question.  Is there a setting, an override perhaps, or anything I can do to make it so that objects appear from far away instead of only appearing when I get close?

No, it's the "fog" or eyesight distance you have. It's pretty much the same for everyone.
