A young, brightly dressed woman wearing a large purple and gold cloak and hood has been passing out copies of the latest paper of Port-au-Lucine: L'Homme Éclairé!

[As the evening of "An Ode to Port-a-Lucine" draws near, gentry jesting foreigners turns toward high nobility boasting how thick their bloodline runs with pride and country. Along with this new fad, a previously unheard of name, "Laurent," is whispered among those lingering toward animosity of foreign-born citizens.]

A recent scuffle in the streets ending with a man in armor dead seems to have caused a stir.

There is now a red-skinned woman with horns actively seeking legal council, stating openly and repeatedly the entire incident was caused by the misconduct of a Gendarme that allowed an armed mob to provoke the now deceased man into defending himself, and petitioning the release of his corpse and belongings to be returned to his sibling.

There seems to have been some sort of fight at the Govenors Hotel a few hours ago. The Gendarmes would of been seen going to the third floor, where later, two gunshots would be heard, along with lots of screaming before the room would fall eerily silent. Anyone trying to get in touch with Sophie, the seamstress, would find their callings and knocking to be met with only silence.

Renée Bellamy, the writer of La Bougie, has been arrested for some manner of heinous crime. The halfling was led towards the Gendarmerie in the Quartier Savant, her head hung in shame.

With the charges made by Lord Laurent dropped, Renée Bellamy can once again be seen on the streets of Port-a-Lucine, though her disposition is one frequently marked by anxiety and paranoia.

The woman known as Carine D'Ailleurs has been looking quite sick as of late.  Her hair has become a stark white, her flesh a snowy pale hue, and half of her face obscured behind a porcelain half-mask.

A number of notices appear tacked to buildings and street furniture

Most honorable Lord Laurent,

I cordially ask for, but must insist upon being granted an audience at your nearest possible convenience. It is in regards to a matter very close to your heart, a lot is at stake.
It is my hope that a by very personal meeting, some headway might be made. I know I have your attention, so let me say I mean no malice, injury or deception; only fruitful conversation.

A number of these posters have been hung up around Port-à-Lucine:

Quote
Beware! Necromancers lurk the streets!

Renée Bellamy, editor-in-chief of La Bougie, was assaulted by a Nerull-worshipping necromancer last evening. The culprit was a deathly thin woman with cloth wrapped around her head, and wore what appeared to be a black tunic and pants with metal studs.

The culprit tortured Renée extensively before subjecting her to horrific necromantic experiments. Renée's face was cut off and an eyeball gouged out. Despite receiving prompt magical healing, she is still blind in one eye.

Exercise caution if you see the woman. She is capable of making herself invisible and knows how to move quietly to avoid detection. She can lurk out of the shadows at any moment to catch a person who has lowered their guard. She is also capable of casting see invisibility, do not rely on magic to keep yourself hidden from her!

Those seeking the Wight Tess, would find that the streets of Port-a-Lucine show no evidence of her particular brand of chaos. It seems that she has not been hunting the streets recently.

Quite the scene happened at the Museum earlier today, like something straight out of the latest horror novel. Gossip is spreading fast about how the costumed display saboteur, rumoured be a disgruntled janitor, has been posing as a mummy and disrupting museum tours. However, over the previous night the janitor had been jailed, making this saboteur's latest appearance an even greater mystery. Worse yet, the saboteur began to murder museum goers, including security guards and anchorites praying at the statue of Ezra. Apprentice curator Claire Croustille was seen fleeing the museum to flag down a Gendarme, shrieking about the foul necromancer from the newspaper being inside the museum. Indeed, some of the bodies carried out of the museum were rumoured to have dried out, cracked skin, as though they themselves had become mummies! None the less, some are left scoffing that this is just an elaborate ruse advertising an upcoming book release.

[The so-called 'Festival of Fashion' ended up being a shocking event for all who attended. If the group of caliban that decided to show up to the event wasn't shocking enough, rumors say that Renée Bellamy was arrested and escorted by an elderly member of the gendarme into the Gendarmerie.]

[Only a day after Wymmer Drukker-Moreau and Lilianne Moreau-Drukker were raised to the noble rank of Signeur, rumour has it that an attempt has been made on the Maîtresse de Moreau's life. Inspecteur Valérian Blaise was seen carrying the body of the would-be assassin from le Théátre de la Cathédrale, and both the Maîtresse and her personal assistant Valeria were seen to be alive and well, if a little the worse for wear.]

[Rumor spreads like wildfire of the young Invidian painter Valeria Levski having committed suicide in her suite at the Governor's Hotel with a pistol. Art aficionados mourn her passing, while the collectors cynically buy up as many of her works as possible. Surprisingly enough, rumor spreads of a caliban having been confronted by the Gendarmerie over a string of murders in the Governor's Hotel and having fled, with a pale woman having claimed the creature as their attendant. Word already spreads of the most prominent noble families mustering up large sums of coin to whomever brings the creature to justice...]

[Rumor spreads like wildfire of a tragedy having occurred within the Grand Opera National. Poisonous spores of a deadly Forfarian fungus seeped from a set of fog machines used during the show, killing at least twenty people of noble station, an entire choir, and many others who were attending the private showing take place within. The few survivors remark that the leading lady, Vivienne Malveaux, found herself surrounded by a strange coterie of ghosts and was shortly after consumed by mists - most skeptics remark that this was clearly some sort of hallucinogenic side-effect to the poison being used. Ricardo Diosa, the owner of the Grand Opera National, appears to be positively devastated following the attack, and fears that this might prove to be the final nail in the coffin for the opera house's future...]

A woman with grey skin , violet eyes and black hair has recently taken residence in a Governor Hotel guest suite. Those that observe her flamboyant and sassy manner might wonder if she is a lady of the night or simply some low class new money. Expensive dresses and jewelry are exposed by cheap shoes and tacky hand bags. One thing is for certain, rough looking men are now more frequently seen coming and going in the Port's finest hotel, sometimes in small groups. Some might recall she was recently removed from a Ball for inappropriate dress.
