Laws of the Zeklos Lands
« on: May 27, 2009, 01:55:39 AM »
i really like how Vallaki has instituted their laws on actually signs around the city/outskirts. can the Zeklos lands be done the same way? perhaps a sign at the Lunar Bridge where the Zeklos Lands Border Vallaki's lands?

i know its been mentioned before. but would give the Boyar guards some slack instead of having to recite each of the 17 laws.

just an idea :)

I think the wording of those laws needs a slight revision, too.  Openly stating that breaking a law leads to torture might ruin the image of any place that posts it...

It does, but no one ever states that officially as a potential punishment.

Usually torture is a part of (and often expected from) incarceration. However, as Bad_Bud states, I doubt it would be outwardly stated. Inferred maybe, but not put out in the open.

Having a law stating "Accusing anyone at the keep of being undead will get you imprisoned, tortured, and eventually turned into a vampire by one of the many staying here." wouldn't be without it's comedic value, though.

As for the wording, I almost think there should be an IC and an OOC laws postings, since, like Bad_Bud said, you aren't likely to officially admit you're torturing people.

Peasent: Wait what?
Guard: Screw it where going to torture you....
Peasent:Then but that on the bleeden Sign!
Guard:Ehh well we tried but every ine thought it was to strait foward.
Peasent:Gah 'ets go....

Please, "Questioning" is such a harsh word. Personally I prefer "Moderate Physical Pressure".

It is only torture when the pain is equivalent to serious physical injury such as organ failure, impairment of bodily function or death. Otherwise, it is mere enhanced interrogation...

i dont think it needs to be reworded. keep in mind Zeklos rule their land much differently then vallaki, being much harsher and ruthless with their laws. adds to the fear and wonder that surrounds the boyar family. from my experience they aren't the type of people to beat around the bush. they gonna tell you how it is

Zeklos is like series of B movies, everyone knows what's going on but no one can stop them.  About Eight months ago Jinx was told icly that Strahd felt they were getting too cocky, overt and open about what they do by a pc who had spoken to Strahd personally regarding Zeklos.  That Strahd doesn't seem to exist anymore.

On a serious note about the Zeklos: Interesting things are planned.  :)

5. The Land of our noble family von Zeklos goes from the Lunar river to the Tainted Woods, which lead to Kresk.

Could we get some clarification on this. I am under the impression that the Lunar river is the one running near the orphanage and that makes everything from the river to the Western edge of the server von Zeklos lands. Is that correct?
